just ordered my headblade sport and travelpack( 2 oz head matte, head shed, head lube, head slick), gonna give this a try.
anyway for those who use headslick..i think i have read that some of you use total shaving solution or secret shaving oil with it? not sure....just wanna know before my first shave with my headblade...does this help the shaver glide across the head better? i actually have both oils and what to make sure i do this the best way i can.
also, any tips headbladers? and how often do you use the head shed lotion?

hey mouse: i'm not a headblader but i do use SHAVE SECRET underneath the HEADSLICK when shaving the dome and face. try it out. U can purchase the shave secret oil at walmart for under $3. it is a perfect combo and yes the blades definitely glide smoooooothly like ice. U also might want 2 try out the BALD GUYZ shaving gel, also. i go back and forth with either the headslick and bald guyz shaving gel. keep us posted. O0

I just use the headslick with my headblade. I exfoliate with ST Ives apricot scrub about 2 times a week, I think the head shed is similar.
I find the oils tend to clog my razor and causes my blade to dull faster, but thats just IMO.
I say start out with just the headslick and see how it goes, then experiment when your familiar with the shave and feel.
It will take a couple of shaves to get use to the headblade and how much pressure to use. Make sure most pressure is on the back when you start out and try different strokes to get the pesky hairs.
I also use a mach3 on my face and around my ears. Its easier for me that way.

so is the headshed used the same way as a shampoo pretty much?
and yes i have also noticed when i used to use the mach3 turbo, that it shaved easier when i just used gel instead of gel and oil.

I only use the Headslick. It's an awesome product. I can't ever imagine using anything else. I also use the St. Ives scrub, but unlike some here, I actually use it after shaving to get any dead skin, etc. off. I just wash my head with Dove soap twice before shaving in the shower.

I use Shave Secret under Headslick and find the combo awesome. Headslick is also a great product used without shaving oil, but at least I find the shave smoother and closer when I use it in combo this the shaving oil. It is necessary to rinse the razor more frequently when using the oil to avoid its' getting clogged.
Don't just love that bowling ball feeling after a shave?!

Ya see! It's all what works for you. In the last couple of months I've tried 3 different oils on my head before applying the Head Slick and I can't say any of them worked enough to bother with.

I use HeadSlick........ sometimes alone and sometimes with Shave Secret. It works great either way.
I also ust the St. Ives Scrub about twice a week. Like Stu i use it AFTER shaving.

HeadSlick and the oils are great products, though if you need a little more protection added to HeadSlick, then just use a drop of oil and mix it in.

So Tyler, you're saying to just mix it together? Never even thought of that. I was just applying the oil and then the HeadSlick. Another great thing to experiment with!! :-)

Tried this when shaving this morning. Put a dab of Headslick on my shaving brush and then a drop of Shave Secret in the middle of the Headslick. I use the top of my dome sort of as a shave cup in the sense that I apply the brush there first and just use the area to build up the lather. The lather this morning was noticeably thicker than what I am used to and I got a really great shave.

so mix the headslick with a little bit of total shaving solution or secret shaving? do u guys put it in a bowl or just put it on your brush and start lathering your head?
speaking of brushes, where can i go to buy a good one? all the cvs and walgreens out here in vegas only have this 8 dollar one and its okay, but i want something really good.

Getting a brush was one of the smartest things I've ever done. Red's got the right idea on brushes. Also, I like to use Pacific all natural shave oil along with my HeadSlick, I get a really nice shave. For even better lather, I'll drench my brush in Van Der Hagen shave soap and mix it with the HeadSlick, now that is amazing.

so how is this for a routine with the headblade(first time).
1. shower
2. wet head (hot water)
3. apply headshed.
4. rinse head (hot water)
5. lather up with headslick with a little of total shaving solution mixed
6. lather head and shaved front of forehead to back with headblade sport.
7. cold water rinse
8. air dry
9. apply wich hazel
10. wait 15 minutes, apply bump stopper 2
11. wait 15 minutes, apply head matte
lol any suggestions?

That sounds pretty good so far. Smart move on the cold water rinse, that's a must for me. I usually soak it in freezing cold water, to the point where I can barely tolerate it, it feels great and helps with the shine. Also to answer your previous question, I'd recommend using a bowl to mix the lather. It comes out in a much richer, creamier form, and is less messy.

I shave from the bottom back of my neck up to the crown on the back, then I travel the sport sideways from left to right on the back of my head, then from front of head to crown on back where I stopped, then I go from my side burns on each side due north and stop around the middle of my dome.
This gives me the best shave that I have found due to how the hair grows in.
Oh, actually before all that I use the mach 3 around my ears.
About 3 times a week I follow up with St Ives apricot scrub and then cold water rinse.
I don't have issues with bumps so I just slap on some bald guyz moisture gel and head to the office.
If I am going to be outside I use the Matte for men after for the sun protection.
You may want to experiment with the moisture gel sometime, I love that stuff now.
Nothing wrong with your routine though, you have to see what works best for you O0

im kinda nervous to go against the grain in the back, last time i went against the grain with the panasonic and on the back of head/neck i got razor bumps and ingrown hairs

Never had bumps with Headslick, I always take a shower first, and leave my head wet, lather it up with headslick and bam!
