Title: alarm clocks
Post by: warhawk on April 25, 2009, 09:27:21 PM
hello fellow chrome domes:  do  U  use an alarm clock 2 wake U up in the morning or night when U go 2 work or school?  i'll start:  i always set my alarm clock prior 2 going 2 sleep so that i'm "guaranteed"  2 wake up early in the morning 4 work.  i almost always wake up a few minutes b4 the alarm rings but the alarm clock is my "insurance" on getting out of bed.

so... how 'bout U?  do use an alarm clock like me?  yes?  no?  never?  what's your story?  bonus question... do U use your snooze button?  me?  of course i do? O0

Hey warhawk,
I hate the "ticking" of clocks.  I can't fall asleep  :Xo! :Xo! :Xo!
So instead I have a radio alarm clock.   I wake up to songs or news on the radio.
So you wake up before you alark clock rings?  ???  That's nice!! I wish I could do that.
I heard that Native Americans had a trick to waking up early.  Drink a glass of water before going to bed.
You will surely wake up early enough.   :)  (that was their trick from what I learned)

Never use one. I just wake up on my own around the right time. Don't know why, but it's been that way for over a decade now.

Yep....either use the one on the nightstand.....or my cell phone.

I like my cell phone alarm because I can set it to start out REALLY quiet and then get gradually a little louder.

The goes off at 6:00 for my wife mainly. BUT I honestly I can't remember the last time it went off. I usually wake around 5:30 no matter what. When it does go off it simply beeps. It is kept on the dresser so that you have to get up to shut it off!

I use an alarm clock, but I usually wake up before it goes off. If it does go off I beat the hell out of it until it shuts up!

My wife wakes me about 6:30 so I can make her breakfast & pack her lunch. She has the real job while I have a home-based business. A side note for waking up as I'm not a morning person- I read somewhere before you get out of bed rub your eyes and massage your face a little- it works- it must get the blood flowing or some logiclal reason.

Like a lot of the guys I set an alarm clock but I usually wake up a little before and turn it off and suit up for the gym.  Once in a while it will go off, it's really an irritating sound and if I'm really sound asleep when it goes off I have a hard time finding it.  That does not please my wife who gets up when her alarm goes off, me finishing in the bath after getting back from the gym.

I use my Ipod Alarm Clock and I tend to overuse the snooze button, so I keep mine across the room which forces me to get up and turn it off.  I also set my cell phone alarm as I am a deep sleeper and have to have 2 to wake up usually.

lol this is weird.  Maybe I'm the weird one.  Rarely do I wake up before the alarm.
Who knows maybe it has something to do with age.

hahaha, I'm the worst for getting up.  My shifts are all either 8pm to 8am or 8am to 8am.  I leave my house at 6:50, and to do that I have alarms go off at........

4:00  -  4:15  -  4:30  -  4:45  -  5:00  -  5:15  -  5:30  -  5:45  -  6:00

I hit each one off and always end up getting up at 6:15...

Strangely though, my days off I'm up without alarms around 5 or 5:30

Maybe it is age cuz I NEVER wake up before the alarm.  In fact on my days off if I don't set an alarm I sleep most of the day away.

That sounds good Math guy, until you wet the bed!

And yes I use alarm clocks, I use two,  If I'm short of sleep I use three!  I'm not a morning person.

I don't have to use an alarm to get up in the mornings.  I have a Rat Terrier that just like an alarm, wakes me up every morning of the World at 5:30 A.M..  When I was working that was my time, so he has continued, without fail, to take the place of the clock/radio.  God, if I could only break him of the habit.

I use the alarm on my cell phone. It has 5 alarms and I use them all. I am a big snooze button presser, so what I will do, is I have to get up at 7, I set one for 6, 6:15, 6:30, 6:45, 7:00. This way I am guaranteed to get up by 7 lol.

Never have used an Alarm Clock. Always wake up on time by myself. In fact I do not use any clocks much at all. I do not own a watch and there are no actual clocks on my walls. There is one on the computer and the cable box and maybe the microwave but other then that nothing. I tell time more by the sky and it has served me well here. Guess if I was in a bigger fast paced city I might need clocks but I liked the relaxed atmosphere of our small town.
