As an interviewer, if you agree to something with the producers, interviewees and their agents then you should damn well abide by it and not try to sneak around it.

If it was intentional on the part of Thornton then Good for him, otherwise I don't know.

It was only mentioned in passing; I don't understand why it was such a big deal. If Thornton felt that he went on too long about his film career, all he had to do was say, "that's not what I'm here to talk about" and steer the conversation back towards his music. He ended up making himself look really bad.

By the end of the interview, I think it's pretty clear that Billy Bob was just being difficult. I felt sorry for his band mates, they just sat there looking sheepish, not wanting to say anything that would upset Billy Bob. Pretty sad.
