I didnt realize it until about an hour ago when I was in the shower shaving...and BAMMM! Felt like I was peeling layers off. I was like man, why am I getting razor burn so bad. It was a new blade and all. Then it dawned on me. Damnit!

Poor Timm!

As you all know I was in Fueteventura on holiday last week. The sun in the Canaries is very strong (they lie on the same latitude as the Sahara desert). I used SPF 15 on my noggin all week and SPF 6 on the rest of me (I tan very easily). Now you would think that my head would not be as brown as the rest of me, right? Wrong! No visible difference. Weird huh?

Rookie mistake!

Your a veteran Timm. Whatsamattaforyou.

a mark? on my report card???

I have to admit, the first time it gets nice enough out to start doing that, ill let my head burn a little so it will peel. Ive noticed a huge difference in keeping pimples and stuff at bay when i let it get enough sun to peel. maybe its something to do with getting rid of dead skin, or maybe its just a "scorched earth" policy for my head. ;D
but after that, the sunscreen goes on. no doubt.
-
BRO! Becareful on that. It might all sound good, but it isnt. If you want to get rid of dead skin cells or what ever...use some kind of treatment...PLEASE! It isnt good to go that radical route. Listen to some of the guys in here. It is a serious matter.

Listen to Tim! You're setting yourself up for skin cancers in the future. I'd recommend a good exfoliator over that sunburn........
-
Any that you all recommend?

Any that you all recommend?
I use the St. Ives Apricot Scrub. I actually buy the CVS brand which I think is actually the same product packaged differently. Great stuff!
-
Yes any kind of scrub will work bro. Just do not do the sun burn removal method. I will personally come down there and kick your ass myself if I hear of you doing that again LOL
-
pffhahaha. will it leave a red and white mark? ;D
-
It just might!
-
Oh man, dont go the sunburn route. Follow the advice given - get a scrub. Keep safe
-
Don't exfoliate the skin as it will irritate you. Moisturize the damaged skin as often as possible and let it naturally regenerate and NEVER EVER go unprotected!!

Let me be clear here.... I DIDN'T MEAN TO EXFOLIATE WHILE SUNBURNED!!!!!!
I meant to exfoliate as a regular part of yoour routine!!!!! O0

Ok,
While on the subject,, Mike and other east coasters,, WHEN should I start with the sun screen? I haven't seen any signs of too much sun,,, yet.
Thanks,
Tom
-
you should use sunscreen anytime you are outside with any sun all thru out the year
-
Man...I just made this same mistake. Didn't think anything about protection, just went out to the state park and cooked out and cooked my head! No Bien!
-
Here's the easy way to assure the situation is covered. Get yourself a good moisturiser with at least an SPF of 15. Use it every day and you're good for indoors or outdoors. If you plan to be out in the sun several hours (especially in the summer months) kick it up to SPF30.

OK I can not stand this any longer. For the past two days when I go to shave...my razor gets clogged up with peeling skin. I have used a scrub ( lightly) because it is still tender...but damn I am tired of the snow!
