Title: My New Hobby...
Post by: BaldRob on February 13, 2007, 08:54:03 PM
Is freakin' shoveling SNOW!!  Been snowing for 3 days straight now with more on the way...

You know, a couple of weeks ago, that stupid little rodent, Puxatawney Phil came out of his little hole, didn't see his shadow, and proclaimed that Spring was just around the corner!

I think I'm heading to Pennsylvania and run that overweight little rat over a few times!   :x!

It was in the low-mid 50's in Austin/San Antonio today where I was.    It will drop to mid 40's wednesday.

Just got back tuesday night from a trip to Austin(I saw both men's basketball games this weekend).

I can't stand cold weather so it's a good thing I live in texas.

A hobby is suppose to be something you enjoy.  This freaking snow is just getting old.  We got a double dose of it in Chicago's north and northwest burbs because that furry little rodent Woodstock Willy saw it too.  Got to see that town dudes, they actually party there on Feb 2.  Was used as site for Bill Murray's Groundhog day, so people are doing  the party bit before sunrise.  Maybe go next year and off the little bugger if this winter weather does stop.

This morning in Grande Prairie, Alberta it was -25 Celsius and snowing when I went to work and by the time I was done at 5:00 it was +2 and sunny.

Doesn't the groundhog say if he doesn't see his shadow, there's only 6 weeks left of winter and if he does see it, winter will end in 6 more weeks?   :*))  :-\

Global warming won't kill the earth.  Mother earth will survive all but I pity the parasite on her back when she gives that big shake to rid herself of it.   ;)

Didn't get a sunburn did ya? Saturday and Sunday were both OK around here, Sunday it was nice enough to go ballooning. Good and cold, the balloon was up for about an hour total, and I flew for about 30 minutes. Which included my first "impromptu" lesson. I logged my first lesson Sunday....woohoo!!! It may take years and years, but I may eventually become a pilot when I grow up!

Same here, I used to live in Phoenix (and yes it does get cold) but we never really had the seasons.  I like being at the end of winter just so ready for summer and likewise in the summer waiting for winter.

In some ways it is really not that bad.  The beauties of AC and waking up early or doing everything in the evening or night.  I'm not a morning person at all (not even the army changed me on that one) and I found myself waking up early many Phoenix summer to avoid the heat.

I think the trick is to go out and buy a nice big snowblower, like I did. :/O  Then it won't snow for beans.  I actually had to try it out and ended up putting it into one of the higher gears so I could pick up enough snow to blow, and the scraper got caught on one of those expansion cracks in the sidewalk and I thought I was going over the top of that thing! :D

I dont know where you all heard that spring was around the corner....but if my memory serves me correct.....I think he did see his shadow and winter was lasting 6 more weeks.

My new hobby is shoveling snow. We didn't get much of the white stuff this year until Friday. Eight inches. For some of u guys that's no big deal. But everytime I shovel the front of my driveway the plow passes by and puts that darn stuff back.  :Xo!
