Title: Trojan.Brisv.A!inf........ UPDATE!
Post by: Mikekoz13 on March 13, 2009, 04:57:06 AM
Guys-

I posted last week about this nasty Trojan.

Anyway, I have Norton Antivirus and it got past Norton. When I called Norton support they wanted to charge me $99 in spite of that fact that I have been a paying customer for almost ten years. I said no thanks.

I tried a solution from Norton that I found on the web.... but no luck.

So I asked for help from this beloved Forum. There were several suggestions but Thier (Tom) suggested downloading and running "Malwarebytes". I checked it out on Cnet and it got rave reviews from users.
So I downloaded and ran it. Not only did it remove this nasty Trojan, but  it found four other things that had squeaked past Norton.

Thanks Tom!!!

And yes..... I'm done with Norton. I still have it loaded but I'm in the market for a new AV software. As soon as I purchase and load a new one, I'm going to banish Norton and get a refund on my unused yearly portion.

Norton is trash. everyone ive ever talked to has hated it, and I have used it before and didnt like it either. I was a little skeptical of Malwarebytes, but it does appear to be a good solid program. AVG is also a good program. Just make sure you have layers of protection (but only one antivirus program)

Congrats on getting it fixed!

No problem,, glad I could help, but credit goes to my friend Bruce,, (by the way who's' wife is sly). She is not a cancer survivor, but has some medical condition that keeps her from growing hair.

Also, I never have been a fan of Norton antivirus, I use McAffe, but am switching over to AVG which is free.
