I know many of us drive either a truck or an SUV, so what are you driving? If you don't have one, which one would you want?
I currently drive a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder SE. I have to say that I'm quite impressed with it for everyday use, but I haven't had the opportunity to really test it in the dirt.
-
1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD - 4WD is used mostly for dirt roads and icy weather.
-
I had a 1999 Jeep Geand Cherokee 4X4 Burgandy in colour, up untill just before christmas when it was stolen. It was foun about 4- 5 hours north of where I live gutted and burned.

Man - that really bites. I love mine. There have been a few minor issues but I love it. I have had to replace a transmission but its going strong at 230K miles
-
The sly guys drive jeeps!!! I have a 1993 Grand Cherokee, 4wd just kicks ass when it snows. I used to have a 2wd Ranger that I had to put chains on just to get around town, in 3 or more inches of snow. The transmission leaks, need to have that fixed, but otherwise runs great for 130 thousand miles. O0

They are like Timex watches ...

F350 Dually King Ranch, usually towing my jeep on weekends, when it's not in the garage.
-
2000 Izuzu Rodeo with 42,000 miles or so on it. I've put that SUV through too much crap to count unfortunately but I like it. There is a nasty dent(door is partially caved in on back passenger side) but the door still opens fine and i'm not one who really cares how the car looks as long as it gets me from point A to point B.

I drive a 2005 Jeep Liberty, which replaced my 1996 Jeep Cherokee. And the 4WD was a big help during the blizzard here in Da Windy City today.
-
Chevy S-10 FWD in cold or bad weather. Harley in good weather.
-
I've got the old reliable Mater! 1985 Ford F-150 Regular Cab 4WD. 300 ci straight 6 and a 4 speed manual with granny low 1st. Considering the rear differential is completely open, it does pretty well in the snow and such. For an old beater farm truck it has turned out to be pretty nice.
-
Another Jeep here...01 Wrangler 4.0
With the 31's its been unstopable in the Michigan snow. I think I will be trading it in this summer though, for a Toyota FJ cruiser. I will have a 55 mile drive to work and Wranglers just dont have highway manners. I will be testing the new Wrangler 4 door also...I have heard its much nicer on road and just as good off.
-
Gotta love the Jeeps!
05 Wrangler Rocky Mountain Edition... goes through anything but a gas station!
-
Man, if I would have known the outcome of this thread I would have created Sly Bald Guys Who Drive Jeeps .com... D@^^

1997 f150 333,000 miles. gets me where i am going.

1994 Toyota 4Runner, SR5 V6 4WD, only has 146k on it, runs like a Kenyan. We keep in in very good condition. It was our 3rd car for a while until we the wife's commuter car out to pasture. Replacement parts / repairs have only been for wear items, and it does a good job towing the snowmobiles. Our mechanic has said on several occassions "Don't ever replace this car".
Don't plan to anytime soon.
-
1996 GMC Jimmy 4X4 125,000 miles
love it but if i have enough money this summer im gonna replace it with something else, i dont know what yet....
-
I drive a 2005 GMC 2500 HD crew cab 4x4. I just love the Duramax Diesel engine and the Allison transmission. I had to have one after I started selling them! I am a car salesman who is very addicted to cars! My problem is that I like way too many different cars. My dream car is a 1967 GTO......maybe in a few months, finally!

That Duramax and Allison combo make for one bad pickup Dan. I would venture to guess that you work at a GMC-Pontiac dealer?
My boss has an '03 Chevy identical to yours and he can't say enough good things about it.

2002 jeep liberty

Sellin' a few Caddy's, ey? O0

2002 jeep liberty
And yet another Jeep! Too bad GM is considering buying Chrysler
-
I do work at a Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Pontiac, and GMC dealer. I just love my GMC truck, I always had Dodges before

The thing that gets me nervous about the Duramax are the aluminum heads. That just doesn't seem right on a diesel, since they run so hot.
-
My problem with them was the unreliable injectors, that you had to pull the valve covers (IIRC) to get too.
Now mate a cummins to that alison tranny, put them into the Ford body, we would have my dream truck.

The injectors carry a 200K warranty now! Damn!
Cummins engine with an Alison trans and Ford body would be pretty OK

2005 Caddy Escalade ESV. In my line of work, I'm taking clients on golf outings or dinners. On ther personal side I need to haul my four kids' stuff when we road trip. Thank goodness I can right the beast off on my taxes.
-
I'm not brand loyal, but I did get screwed on a Dodge Truck with 38k miles on it by their warranty department, chevy trucks, IMO are downright ugly. And I've had good luck with Fords of late, jury is still out how long my 6.0 lasts, but I have 65k miles on a 2005, and Ford covered the Turbo, EGR cooler, and HPOV under their 100k warranty.
-
end of year 2004 F-150 STX Supercab...got 19k miles on it so far...love it but kinda wish i would of got a 4x4...but i couldnt justify the extra cash at the time.

I'm amazed we haven't had a couple more people come on and say they also drive a Jeep. ;D

05' Tacoma 4X4.... yup, RED! (and paid for too!)

2001 Toyota 4 Runner, but I'm thinking of trading it in for a mustang convertible. I want something with better gas mileage and we'll if I have to get a car, I want it to be fun!
-
If it were me in the Mustang, gas mileage would go way down. Serious abuse of power.
-
My wife wants a 2005 Mustang convertible, we've been talking about trading in her Santa Fe. Course with Diesel going up, and up, and up, I've been talking about selling the jeep, and the F350 and getting me an S2000.

Check out the Chrysler hardtop convertible. That car is just sweet and I would think the hard top would be better suited for the bad weather down there.

S2000 is an awesome vehicle to drive. Not very comfortable getting in and out though.

I was looking at the Seabrings (sorry if I spelled that wrong)....and they discontinued making them....there are not a lot of 4 seater convertibles to choose from on the market with a price range of 18 to 25 thousand, except the mustang........if you have any ideas definately shoot them my way!

I haven't test drove one yet, but like the looks, also like the Pontiac Solstice.
But might also wait for the new Dodge Challenger. Not a convertible, but if it looks as good in person as it does in the pictures, will be worth the wait.

That Challenger looks AWESOME `dr**l `dr**l
If the production car is anything like the concept it will definitely be worth the wait.

I drive a 93 Chevy Silverado 4X4 with a 5.7L V8 (that would be the LT1, same engine as the Corvette and Police Package Caprice Classics). I've had it less than a year, but I LOVE it. She sounds sweet with my Flowmaster duals on there too!

Nothing like the thump of dual exhaust.
I will soon be acquiring a 460 for the Mater. Then it should pass everything but a gas station. I'll still need to build it and bore it out, but I can't pass it up for $40

Hot Cajun,
If you want a butt kicking convertible you might want to consider the Pontiac G6 hard-top convertible, they are really sweet! I just sold the first one we got in last week and it is an awesome car!

Okay, don't everyone make fun of me at once but I drive a 2006 Honda Civic. At the time money was tight, which it is even tighter now since I haven't been working for a year, but I actually wanted a jeep or a mini-SUV. I was looking at the Honda CRV, Jeep Liberty, Ford Escape, etc... I've always seen myself in one of those type of vehicles. I'm not really into anything too big and bulky. Plus the bigger SUVs are just too expensive to me and most of them are "gas hogs." Like I said, at the time I bought the Civic I was driving a 1987 Dodge Shadow that was on it's last leg. We had just paid off my wife's newer car so we could afford another payment but just not too much. So after searching around I got a good loan from my bank on the Civic that was in our budget. Plus the gas mileage is good and I'm sure if I needed it to it would last forever. But hopefully the firefighting job will work out, and if it does the first thing I'm doing is trading my Civic in for something I really wanted in the first place. I think I have my eye on the Jeep Liberty. My wife and I like the body style on the Ford Escape but I've heard rumors that they were made to look pretty good but aren't really made to last. The only big SUV that I would probably consider getting would be the Nissan Xterra. I love the way they look. Okay, I'm done now. Everyone here with the trucks, suvs, and jeeps can start making fun of me for my little old Civic now. :-\ :-[

Thanks for trying to make me feel better around all the big boys and their big cars. Ha, ha. ;D But seriously, yes the Civics are nice cars and I would definitely get my money out of it if I wanted to keep it. But I've always seen myself in a jeep or at least a mini suv. Oh yeah, thanks for the compliments on my son. Yes, he is very adorable. I mean, hey, look at his dad. O:O ;D

I think he looks more like your wife...but if it makes you feel better... ;D

Yeah, I agree with bro. Because as cute as my son is there's no way he took after my ugly mug. :px
-
I would agree. Outside of the blonde hair (ok, when I had hair), I hope my kids take after Mrs. Schro. Although this pic is a few yrs old, it's one of my favorites of Nicole & Alex at the park.

Good lookin kids brother Schro. I can see why you want them to take after their mother though.....hehehehehehehehe.......Hope my kiddos take after the wife as well.

It's probably an automatic hard top... push a button and it goes into the trunk area! That's just me guessing though... 8)

Tyler I did have a 2002 Jeep Wrangler but I traded and now I have a 2005 Ford Ranger 2wd, living here in PA after this past winter & 1 bad Ice storm it made me rethink on not getting a 4wd Truck.
