and it took exactly 21 minutes. (not including putting on shaving gel). just strictly shaving. is that longer than you guys take? theres no way i can do it in a shorter time than that unless i only go over my head once and against the grain.
-
So was that timed with you trying to make a time goal, or you actually shaving like you would normally do?
I would say it takes me about 25 minutes or so against the grain, and a bit quicker with the grain.
What is neat is that is about the time it takes to get a nice haircut at a barbers.
-
It takes me about that long to shave and shower, not including other morning bathroom activities. :D
-
It only takes me 5 -10 minutes at the sink.
-
Just razor to head time takes me around ten minutes.Thats against the grain.
-
post shower/at sink/Headblade/atra/shave oil/with and against the grain = 15 minutes. Seems long to me, but when I'm done, it's PERFECT. Any shorter and I miss spots or draw blood, or both.
-
about 5-6 minutes with my Headblade S4 in the shower (with and against the grain)
-
I went to the same Head Shaving school as Stu..... 5-6 minutes with & against the grain whilst in the shower........
-
It takes me about 10 minutes using the headblade in the shower.
-
about 10-15 at the sink.

I am shaving every other day for the time being. Noticed my head was getting to irritated, and I had some hair going ingrown, so going to give it a few weeks of shaving with the grain before I go back to against.

7 minutes

7 minutes
thats insanium! lol. im assuming you have a horseshoe shadow though? maybe thats why it only takes 7 minutes? i only have a little strip of hair in the front but i have all my hair on my crown and top so i guess that gives me a few more minutes. 14 to be exact lol.
-
6-7 minutes with the headbladeSP....and i shave every morning 99% of the time
-
7 or 8 minutes, all against the grain, at the sink. But I can't shave my neck against the grain without breaking out. I have fine, blond hair and very little on top, not that dark steel wool some of you guys have to deal with.
This is a great nerdy topic for perfect square day! (3*3=09)

ok that is the third time ( YES 3) that I have heard that and I just figured it out...dahhhhhhhh

Ghost, one thing you could do to possibly cut down on time is shave in the shower. But get your head wet right when you get in and shave it after about 5-10 minutes of being in there.
You're hair will be softer and it might speed it up abit. (I've learned this from women who've told me that they shave their legs after being in the shower awhile).
Never rush though, I've learned that the hard way. It could be that you just have thicker hair to deal with.
I don't time it bit I think it takes me alittle under 10 minutes, depending on how thorough I want to be.

well the reason i shave at the sink and not the shower is cuz i have to take quick showers cuz within 10 minutes the water gets cold. theres no way i can take a shower AND shave. what if i start shaving AFTER a shower? would that have the same effect?
also.....like i mentioned earlier im starting to shave everyday but my heads been getting irritated as hell. will my head get used to shaving everyday eventually? its used to me shaving every other day.

I always shave after taking a nice hot shower. I think it helps al ot.

It only takes me 5 -10 minutes at the sink.
Same here. And that includes going over some problem areas more than once.
-
the actual shaving part probably takes me about 5-10 (headblade FTW!!!). but showering, washing, lathering up, rinsing, and then finishing probably takes 25 minutes or so.
-
it takes me about 5 minutes to do the head & 5 to do the face. I use a Headblade, with & against the grain, & touch up around the ears with a Schick triple, which is what I do the face with. I think the crucial thing is that I do it every day after my shower. If I skip a day or two, that little bit of extra length creates more resistance and makes the process slower. And I still don't rush it - smooth, steady strokes & don't press down! Exfoliating in the shower every couple days helps too. So I guess I don't really spend any more time on my head than a lot of guys do on their hair! 8)
-
Ten minutes for head and face.
-
It takes me maybe five minutes. And I have thick full hair and no horseshoe. I shave one time against the grain with HeadSlick and a Fusion. Then feel around and touch up if needed. I also shave everyday or every other day. If I shave everyday, I don't get as good a shave.
I figured out if I wait a day or two I get a MUCH better shave.
-
OK i actually timed myself this morning. Last night I posted that it took me 6-7 minutes, that seemed reasonable. Well guess what, after I jump in the shower, i use the time while washing off as head soaking time as well. So as soon as I am finished washing my body, my head is good and ready to go. Slick up with shaving lotion and start right in with the headbladeSP. Guess what?....it took me exactly 3 minutes and 47 seconds. To me I wasnt rushing it just to get the best time...it was just my normal speed and way I do it.
-
if i use a straight razor - 3-4 times a week- 30 minutes - both with the grain and against the grain
if i use my head blade sport - 5-6 times a week - 10 minutes
-
WOW! lol. When I used to shave my head directly to the scalp, shaving with the grain (including putting shaving gel on) before I decided to go strictly with a buzz cut, it took me 15 minutes, and I used the gillette 5 blade, or sometimes the shick titanium, and took me 20-25 when I shaved with the HeadBlade razor.
-
I shave at the sink. Probably took me longer as a newbie, but after 6 years, it's just 5 minutes for me. And that's going against the grain, of course! Gotta be totally slick!

That was basically what I was going to say. It doesnt take me very long and I still have what some would consider a full head of hair. I shave with the grain with a fusion and headslick at the sink. When I first started I shaved every day but then a combo of lazyness and my hair not growing as fast has made me just shave every other day. I am going to time myself in the morning just to see.
-
The actual shave process takes me about 10-12 minutes. 15 probably if I include making my lather and prepping the shave.
-
this thread really gets me. Anything over 10 minutes to shave your noggin really has me ???? What are you all doing? Shaving one hair at a time. Quit being whimps and just shave it. We talk about women spending 30 minutes just putting make up on. Come on guys...pump it up a little
-
It depends on how things go but usually about 10 just for the shaving the dome. Maybe 15-20 with the rest of my shower included. Sometimes I just like to stand there and enjoy the hot shower and steam sometimes....ahhh it cleanses the soul.

well are you all talking about the total amount of time you are in the shower? Sometimes I spend 15-20 just in the shower, but the amount of time spent shaving the noggin is usually less than 5 minutes.
-
Just ran across this thread. It's too funny because just this morning I decided to time myself.
I use a Gillette Fusion and Head Slick. I started when I opened the door to the cabinet that has all my supplies in it till I was completey done and cleaned up.
Head and Face shave took 11 minutes. Then the shower and lotion etc. the whole works took a total of 19 minutes. I don't think that's bad going from start to the point that I am dressed and ready to go! I would have to add 2 - 3 minutes if I had to trim the goat, but I only do that every 3 days or so.
