I have been "blessed" w/ problem skin all my adult life so I don't think that the oils in and of themselves cause blemishes. What does cause problems is dirt, and I wash my face and dome at least three times a day, before heading to the gym in the morning, showing after and before bed. Since I don't have dry skin problems it works for me. Keeping the dome clean keeps it clear. O0

I'm afraid I have dry skin problems as well as pimples. The Johnstone's baby oil moisturizer seemed a 'Godsend', as right after a hot shower, I would apply 4 drops and it kept my skin free from dryness. However, I am reassessing it now after repeated outbreaks. Then again maybe it's the coffee as I drink 5 strong cups a day! :Xo!

Would water suffice in keeping the skin clear as everything I have used on a continuous basis seems to exacerbate the problem (mostly things with witch hazel, tea tree and aloe vera). For example morning rinse under shower tap, after workouts and before bed.

The dematologist I went to seemed to be against using oils on the scalp (recommended Aveeno, which I bought, but not great for dryness). Anyway, I am caught between a rock and a hard place, dryness or pimples. I'm f*^ked either way. >:(

Post by: Irishdeerhunter on February 20, 2009, 11:30:38 AM: Well, I found out the hard way that baby oil forms a layer on the skin which blocks the pores, thus causing pimples, even if it is excellent for dry skin.

So, I need a product for combination skin and so will try to locate 'shave secret' locally. If not then I will get it from the US.

I agree with TANK and co., Shave Secret is the way to go.

Hot Six is also good that contains all natural oils. Might be too thick for you though. Never hurts to give it a shot.
