Warhawk's thread made me wonder, and since I'm such a nice BALD GUY, rather than insert this thought in his thread, I'd open yet another.
What is your usual term for February 14, St. Valentine's Day or Valentine's Day???
When I was growing up, even in a protestant environment, it was St. Valentine's Day. Lately this has morphed into Valentine's Day in modern European and American practice. Without judgment OR COMMENT on which is preferable and why, do you personally refer to it as SAINT Valentine's Day or Valentine's Day??? Obviously I use the St. Valentine's Day, as does my family. Just a question on how practices morphe into new ideas, NOTHING MORE--UNDERSTAND!!!!

It has always just been "Valentine's Day". It was also the day that I proposed to my wife back in 1992.

Since I lived in the Chicago area for 25 years, I guess I just got used to hearing it referred to as the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre...
...but Wonder Wife and I always just shorten it to Valentine's Day...

I'm romantic 364 other days of the year (365 on leap year's). Why do I need Hallmark to obligate me to do something? :Xo!

What good is being romantic if you have to be told to do it on a certain day at a certain time?

Broads don't ask you to be their Valentine? Are you not being truthful about shaving every day--I mean what girl doesn't ask a guy if they're smooth >:D?

I call it 14th February. I resent the money making part of all such events (that includes Christmas, Easter, Fathers Day, Mothers Day etc. Remember me going on about the "reason for the season at Christmas guys?). I dont have to buy cards/flowers etc to show Madam Ambassador how I feel. Bah humbug!

Mrs Stumpy calls it "Your turn to cook"
I just humour her. It's normally worth it. O0
Under the thumb? Me?
Hang on, gotta go. "Just coming, dear"

"Sweetest Day" actually comes out of a German tradition, and it is generally only heard of in areas that were originally settled by a lot of German immigrants.
I would only know this because my wife's family used to be in the florist industry, in Ohio, and had German ancestors, and sold greeting cards in their flower shop...
