Title: Cold Melon

So today, I had a job interview at a real posh hotel, so I put on my sunday bests, the interview went well, it was my second of the week so my suits have got more wear than they ever got!

As I was leaving, the weather took a turn and down came what could only be described as a blizzard! I had my coat, my gloves and my scarf, but I forgot my beany!!

The snow on my head felt great, but it quickly grew cold after 15 mins, I began to think, my head is going to fall off if I get any colder!! Brings a whole new meaning to the word brain freeze!!

p.s Just realised I am super sly! Awesome!

p.p.s Just got a phone call from the first job I went for and.....................I GOT THE JOB!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO The sly boy knocks it out the park!!  O0

i was reading in the news that the snow you all got has basically shut everything down, or close to it. is that true? either way, it seems as if the hotels are operating!

That's the way to start the year.  Stay warm, don't forget the beanie--first your ears go, then the melt water goes down the back of your neck.
That hotel knows quality.

Congratulation on the new job.  I'm not looking forward to the cold on my newly bald head when I head back to work - some nights it's pushing -40.

Where do you work? -40 that's professional grade.  I grab the beanie at positive 40 and that's F, not C.

I work for a mineral exploration company as a driller.  For the last year I've been working an hour or two north of Fort McMurray, Alberta.  It's only been down to -40 once or twice this year during the day shift, the poor buggers working the night shift have it worse off.  It was WAY colder last winter.

Here outside of Vancouver cold is -10 Celcius.

Spent a few days in Quebec City recently and it got really cold and windy.  I wore a skull cap under my beanie and it worked really well.  I use that combo in Boston too when it gets supercold here.

You know I like winter well enough; but, man, I'm started to long for the spring.

A skull cap is a tight fitting beanie-like hat made, I think, of polyester and lycra.  Some guys wear them when they work out.  Also, they can be worn under ski helmets for warmth.  And worn under bike helmets (the kind with vents on top) to keep you from getting overtanned or burned on the areas of the dome exposed by the vents.
