Title: Questions
Post by: elitelisa22 on February 04, 2009, 07:06:22 PM
Well, The reason I came on here was because I had a few questions. Didnt know anyone who could really answer them. I discoverd this website, thought it was cute and helpful so I signed up. Now if your freaking out right now like WHY IS THIS GUY SAYING CUTE.. lol well because im a girl. my husband shaves his head. & We were talking the other day about buffing your head. We have never herd of it or know how to do it. I told him I would do some research about it & nothing. I cant find any info on it at all.
So I was wondering do any of you guys know anything about it?
If you do Plz let me know!!!!
thanx
=] Lisa

Sometimes I "buff" the dome using my t-shirt before I put it on, it feels good--so why not.  Whether it makes it more shiney than normal, well that would take a light meter I guess, and though I'm bald, I'm not that curious.

You know, actually I was kinda freaking out about the word cute there. Never heard SBG called cute before.  :px

...as far as buffing, I have no idea, but I'm curious, too.

I have no idea either. But sometimes I will use a soft dry cloth to wipe down my head late in the day to cut down on the shine and the oils.

There are lotions and moisture gels, that can give your dome a shine. Is that what you are talking about?

Im not really aware of a way to buff your head (unless you want to go at it with Meguiars and a microfiber towel) but there are products that you can get that will add shine.

Welcome to the fold!

Lisa, welcome to the site.  I think to get the buffed look, you're husband is going to need to get a good shave routine to get his head ultra smooth and then wear a lotion, such as HeadLube by HeadBlade or Bald Guyz Moisture Gel to get his head really shiny.

Kind of like waxing. Do people ever wax their head? Sounds painful but I'd have to imagine it would take longer to grow back seeing how it painfully rips the hair out from the root.

Hey Lisa, welcome to the forum.

I will say the same thing as Tyler; your hubby will need to get one of the lotions recommended for a great shine.

HeadSlick's HeadLube Glossy is probably going to give the best shine.
The next best would be Bald Guyz Moisture gel.

No buffing is needed, and I think it would only irritate the scalp if you did.

Hey Lisa, welcome (and tell your husband welcome as well!)  It's so awsome that you are so supportive.  It's sad, but if you read some of the posts, there are many loved ones that are not! Keep at it and keep coming back. It's nice to hear from the fairer sex once in a while, especially on SBG (a veritable melting pot of intense uber-manliness).  My wife says to be careful, the only reason she doesn't post is that there are just TOO many studmuffins (her words!) here! lol

The term "stufmuffin" makes me think of a delicious breakfast treat made entirely of wood.
