PikPurf- I went to my first hockey game in about 10 years on Friday night.  We have a couple minor league (don't know the classification for pre-NHL??) teams in the Seattle area - and it was AWESOME.  I can see myself getting into a lot more.

cleveland doesnt have an NHL team so ive never been a fan. the only ohio city that has a pro hockey team is the Columbus Blue Jackets. Cleveland has the lake Erie Monsters but thats 1 division lower than NHL.

I am a proud Canadian but I don't watch hockey anymore.  Man, there is no point.  The stupid salary cap messed up everything.  I am a Toronto Maple Leafs fan and we have not made it to playoffs for the past 3 seasons. It's nonsense.   Toronto is the best city for hockey but yet cannot make it to playoffs but a team like Nashville could.
No offense to anyone in Nashville, but apparently there are times the referee wihstles for an icing and there are fans wondering why the referee whistled  :/O

If there are 8 teams that will make it to playoffs from the Eastern Conference then come on Toronto should be one of them.  BUt guess what, the salary cap ruined it man.  I will not watch hockey again.

I used to be a hockey fanatic but the game has changed so much, and not for the better. It seems to me that the games are one power play after another!

The way the salary cap has set it up has provided another game in the game. No longer can you just throw money out the window and get whom ever you want (see baseball) you have to actually find the diamonds yourself and polish them, a true skill

I enjoy going to Blue Jackets games in Columbus.  I also am a regular at the Cincinnati Cyclones games.  Heck I have even made it up to Cleveland a couple of times this season.

Actually I went to root for the Hamilton Bulldogs, most of their players were Cyclones last year.   ;D

I love hockey.

Far from messing up hockey, the salary cap saved the sport.  Of course, the biggest markets don't like it, but too bad.

The Penguins made it to the Finals last year. It won't happen this year.   Nevertheless, the Pens play Detroit today at 3.

I've been playing hockey for years, I never knew there were any rules  ;D  I love hockey in fact I got together with a guy here in town who has a huge welding shop. The upstairs was vacant and since he loves hockey too I talked him into letting me build a hockey ring up there. So we now have 2 kids leagues and an adult league that has been going on for 3 years.

I've been hooked since I went to my first Sharks game back in '95 at the Shark Tank. Sharks fan all the way but I also love the Red Wings and the Rangers.

Grew up playing hockey... nothing organized, just strap on some skates and telephone books for pads and played on the frozen lakes in mid Michigan.

Always have been and always will be a Red Wings fan... sad day when the Captain (Stevie Y) retired!

I've drifted away from watching the NHL since the strike.  But now I have the NHL network, so I'm getting back into it!
