I came across this site a week or so ago and enjoy it and so signed up and this is my first post.

I've been shaving my dome for about five years. MPB for sure, but also just like the look and feel of my shaved head.

I enjoy the posts here and feel at home already. Great to have a group of guys as a resource who know what its like to have a smooth top and who share a set of experiences with me. So many of the stories I have read here (misgivings about taking the plunge, questions about razors and grooming products, etc.) have hit home with me.

Looking forward to taking an active part in the forums.

Is that stuff nice. I am not a big fish fan (despite living in a fishing port).

Two basic types: Manhatten (tomato based) and New England (cream based)

They only serve New England style around here.

Many recipes are available. There is a Chowder festival here each year at the plaza around City Hall. Many area restaurants have booths from which they serve small portions of the stuff so comparisons can easily be made. Recipes seem to vary greatly in amount of cream vs milk used.

Here is a recipe. I haven't made it but it has all the right ingredients. Give it a try:

I'm a proper Bostonian in exile in North Idaho, does that count? As of April, it will have been 12 years since we left Boston for this boring land. We do get back for 3 weeks every July. We stay in an extended stay place in Braintree, as it's the closest to family and friends <G>

nah--give me lobster, steamers, and fried clams any day! I tell my dr to forget all about cholesterol when it comes to our 3 week yearly visit! I tell him that I'm going to eat everything that I can't get any other time of year, and that if I die because of it, at least I'll die happy!
