I was just doing a demo for my clients whose office is on the Hudson river. One of the guys on the call just reported that a commercial airliner landed in the Hudson River right by his office. His last report was that there were 50 people on each wing trying to get out and that barges were heading out to get them.
He thinks it was either Delta or US Air

I should mention that I was doing the demo remotely from CA.

TV news told just: all passengers have left the plane and are safe in a house in the city.
Thank God no one is hurt.

The BBC news channel are carrying this as one of their lead stories. As usual my thoughts and prayers are with those involved and their families. Also to the people of New York who must feel apprehensive whenever there is an incident such as this.

The pilot has been hailed a hero. And rightly so!

Man, I thought this whole story was amazing. What an incredible story those people have to tell now. That's a story to tell the grandkids! It's just amazing. The pilot made a great decision and saved a ton of lives. Bravo! O0

I had just gotten a customers Fios up when this flashed on the screen. This could have been so terrible in so many ways, what if they were in some other city where they would have come down in a populated area, water is not soft,, that plane could have been ripped to shreds. That flight crew should be honored with the highest praise possible, and airline owes them a heck of a bonus. Yes there will be lawsuits filed, but if the lawyers are smart they will tell the passengers they got their "reward" already,, they are alive. Most serious injury is a passenger with two broken legs.
Thank GOD for the flight crew, and some divine assistance. O0 O0 O0

Water landings (ditchings) are seldom successful. This guy did a great job. I hear he came in deadstick over the GW bridge and only missed it by 8 or 9 hundred feet. A job well done.

Such a great meeting of great people, the pilot of course, but also the ferry captains who immediately brought their boats along side, the police boats, etc. The fact that he had an absolutely smooth body of water to land on--apparently earlier it had been choppy, clear weather. The captain even went up and down the aisle TWICE to make sure everyone was off and was the last one off. What a display of calm courage, just blows a person away. An the passengers, no reports of bad behavior. All these people and factors in one place--just amazing.

As was stated before,, All flight crew,,, AND passengers deserve it,, "women and children first" I never thought anyone would think like that anymore!! I guess this world still has some hope.

I have hesitated in posting here because it just literally gives me goosebumps. What are the odds here? I mean that plan could have easily been ripped to shreds. There was a higher person in charge here on this accident. What if he had not been over a body of water? What if the waterways were congested with water craft? There are alot of "what if's", but I do know one thing, God takes care of us.
