Hello all and Happy New Year!!!!
I have a couple of clarifying questions that hopefully someone can answer for me.
1) What does 'mpb' stand for? I've seen it throughout some of these posts.
2) SLY? Do the letters stand for something?
Since I was so young in loosing my hair, I quickly received some nicknames. Mostly, good. I would like to compare notes...
I've been called... ShinyDome 2 (the 2 because my dad is bald too and he is ShinyDome1...my brother gave me that nickname, but "revenge" is sweet because he is not ShinyDome 3. I've been called Shiner, ChromeDome.

mpb = male pattern baldness
-
To be honest, I don't have any nicknames.
SLY is an attitude. It doesn't stand for anything.
-
Sly as in "clever enough to beat Mother Nature at her own game".
-
Yes mpb= male pattern baldness, Sly is all us Chrome domes! I like that over the bald guy. I think it's because Bald has a negative stigma.
-
Nope, no nicknames here either.... O0
-
the only nickname I get is "The Show" because everyone thinks I look like the the Big Show from the WWE. I don't get any bald nicknames
-
I think I recall Tyler saying that he picked SLY because it is "roguish and playful". The spirit of a SLY guy.
-
Nobody really calls me by nicknames anymore.... but "Koz" is a play on part of my last name.
In the "good old days" my buddies called me "The Cat" because they said I could spot a beautiful woman in the dark from 100 feet away.
-
In court recently, I had a defendant call me "cueball". Not really the way you want to address a judge but I took it as a compliment. He ended up in jail for a while but not because of his remark. O0 He was drunk as a skunk and a deputy got him before he left the room.
-
I wouldn't call a judge that I was standing in front of anything except "Sir" or "Your Honor" LOL
Our local county Magistrate Judge is a good friend of mine and she says you would be surprised to hear what people say to her. I think I would be most respectful.
-
Around town everbody calls me "Deano" or "Deaner."
No biggie, as long as I'm not called "late for supper" everything is all good. ;D
-
I get called Big John alot...maybe being 6'2" 266 lbs has something to do with it...don't know :/O
-
My nickname is Don. As a child, I really hated my real name. My parents had a wierd sense of humor. So, I refused to answer when called by my real name. My parents asked what I wanted to be called, the first thing out of my mouth--Don. It stuck. Few people even know my birth name. Thank God!
-
I've been called Bear for so long -- it's what just about everyone calls me, and what I've published my books under -- that sometimes I forget that that's not what's on my birth certificate.
-
Bear..what books have you published..avid book reader myself

Only of interest to hard-core web developer geeks, I'm afraid: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/ref=ntt_athr_dp_sr_1?%5Fencoding=UTF8&search-type=ss&index=books&field-author=Bear%20Bibeault (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/ref=ntt_athr_dp_sr_1?%5Fencoding=UTF8&search-type=ss&index=books&field-author=Bear%20Bibeault)

Nickname is "Noodles". To the best of my recollection, the name came about (and stuck) because of the awesome pasta dishes I have served over the last 26 years to my crew @ the firehouse! Go figure!
