Title: Bald Guyz Pre-Shave Scrub
Post by: SBG Math Guy on December 11, 2008, 04:25:10 PM
| received my package from bald guyz yesterday, so today I tried the Bald Guys pre-shave Scrub.
The first thing I noticed when I ordered this product is that it costs more than the bald guyz shave gel, bald guys
wash & shampoo, and moisture gel.
I don't have time to find out how good a product is, so like most people I look at price as an indicator of quality.  Higher prices usually suggest better quality.    When I first used the Bald Guys shave Gel on Nov.28 I didn't think that there could ever be an improvement to shaving.  The product worked so well and it allowed me to use the same Mach 3 blade for twice as many shaves (I can do 6 shaves now with same Mach 3 blade, previously only 3).

Now, the Bald Guys pre-shave Scrub is supposed to "prepeare your skin for a very smooth shave".   That's exactly what I got out of it!!! And of course like all other bald guyz products it smells so nice.   I was surprised at how easliy hair came off (mind you I was using one of those Mach 3 jetables that I have used for 3 previous shaves).   I will continue using this product because I got such a smooth shave today.   Wow!!! Man, hair came off with so much ease.

and hey Howard (Head Bald Guy)   This stuff is really magic.    O0

Glad you like the Pre-Shave Scrub. For over 15 yrs. I have been developing the range of products that work best together to provide the best in skin care for the heads. You only need a little bit of the Scrub to prepare the skin as the fruit enzymes and silica gently exfoliate.

We do not use any anti-fungal or anti-bacterial ingredients, only the finest in herbals, extracts and antioxidants in our formulas to clean, care for and protect the skin.

I just received some stuff from Bald Guyz including the scrub, but I'm sort of taken aback. I love their products but I am nervous about incorrect packaging and never buy anything in a store that seems tampered with or any way odd. This is the first time I have ordered online, and the product packaging is very different from what I have bought at walgreens/cvs, so I am kind of suspicious.

The scrub came in a tube marked for something else, some kind of conditioner and it carried a little note which explained that it was the scrub. That, I can understand, you probably don't print in house and the supplier messed up the order or whatever, no biggie. The sleeve with the proper instructions was there.

But the shave gel I am really nervous about. The label, normally printed on the tube, is on like a sticker stuck very crudely on the tube. And the back, where the ingredients and stuff are is the same, but it doesn't look anything like the other one that I have been using. I don't know if this is a cost cutting measure or what, but it just kinda threw me off.

My moisture gel however is exactly the same. One of my favorite shave products, for dome or face! I don't care too much, but I was just curious if this is how it is supposed to be or if I should chunk it and go to back to getting it at walgreens/cvs.

Hey Rod,

The Shave gel that you received was incorrectly picked. You mistakenly received a "sample" tube that we label in-house and not the actual retail package. The product is 100% GOOD. Please email me at info@baldguyz.com with your address and I will send you the correct package and you should use the sample tube as well.

I PERSONALLY apologize for this and you can be sure I will address this with our warehouse personnel.

Question for Math,  Did the scrub cut down on your 50 minute shaves.  I too ordered the scrub and like you said, really helps taking the hair off.  And it did cut down on my shave time.

Hey Papa D,

One thing you will also find is that you will get more shaves from your blade.

Yes Papa Don, I have reduced my shaving time by a half!!!  Now I need about 23 to 26 minutes to do a wonderful shave.  I'm loving it.   Enjoy the scrub Papa Don.

That, I can understand, you probably don't print in house and the supplier messed up the order or whatever, no biggie. The sleeve with the proper instructions was there.

So is the Deep Cleanser & Conditioner synonymous with the Pre-Shave Scrub or what?  From what I take from the insert, they aren't supposed to be, right?

"Bald Guyz Pre-Shave Scrub was packaged using our Deep Cleanser tubes.  Ingredients and directions can be found on the folding carton.  Sorry for this inconvenience."

So I did a thorough search on the Bald Guyz website and found that they offer no such thing as a Deep Cleanser.  After looking closer at the packaging, it clearly says "Deep cleanser & conditioner" under Pre-Shave Scrub.  LOL!  As you can see, I'm kind of confused.

It wouldn't even be that big of an issue if it weren't for the fact that the carton, the tube, and the website are giving me conflicting directions on how to use the product.  So...  Am I supposed to only use it twice a week POST-shampooing or PRE-shave?

I used it as a pre-shave first and was kind of disappointed.  It really felt like a hair conditioner for your head.  What I mean is that it made my scalp very soft (kind of how conditioners make hair silky).  In that respect, it worked great.  I used it after shaving and shampooing and it really helped to ease my razor burn.  As far as a pre-shave scrub, I really didn't feel as if it exfoliated as well as what I had been using... and I missed those beads!  Anyway, I'm just wondering if this is how it's supposed to be or did I somehow get the wrong product.  I'm thinking the former.  Which is fine.  It works great as a post-shave solution but I wouldn't really recommend it as a pre-shave scrub.  Anyone got any input?

Bald Guyz used to have a Deep cleanser with beads but I think people were confused on when to use it.  So, it looks like they've changed it to the Pre-Shave scrub.

The product was originally introduced as a Deep Cleanser and Conditioner which never contained scrubbing beads. There was confusion as to how to use this product and after research amongst users we repositioned and repackaged the product to be our Pre-Shave Scrub.

We use gentle silica and fruit extracts as our exfoliate which gently prepares the skin for shaving. The formula is intended to soften the skin and whiskers for a closer shave.

This product can be used every time you shave, or several times a week, your choice. We have received excellent comments on SBG from users and hope this clears up the confusion. Unfortunately our factory used the Deep Cleanser tubes when filling this product, hence the insert card.
