I'm wondering what the general buzz (pun intended! ) is on electric razors. Guys who use them for their faces look pretty smooth; How do they work for head shaving? I find that now that I'm shaving my face; It feels very tender and irritated (and I use lots of aloe vera , etc ); so maybe an electric is the way to go. But again; what about the head .?
I'm imagining it would be very convenient; you could even do touchups a two or three times a day;
but I love the smooth feel and look of a razor shaved dome. So my main question, How close can you get with an electric ?

Nothing compares to a freshly shaved dome done with a razor and a decent fresh blade 8)

John, this subject has come up many times on here. I use a Braun everyday on the sides and back of my head and a Fusion on top. That's what I prefer , plain and simple. I have shaved with everything and I just prefer doing it my way. The electric takes getting use to. Just like your face has to adjust to an electric so does your noggin. Does an electric get as close as a blade? , everyone has their own opinion and it all depends on your head and how much hair you got etc etc....So without beating this subject to death again , all I will say it's up to the person and how they prefer to shave....

Ditto John, there's no comparison. Blade gives the closest and best shave, hands down.

maybe my face is just gonna have to get used to the irritation; or maybe it will toughen up with time.
I just thought maybe electric all over --face and head might make sense; but you all think that the elec. just doesn't get the head smooth enough ? (and make no mistake; I love the smoothness of a razor shave on my head ! )

its simple jhon ...lets compare an electric shaver with a razor
il take panasonic linear wet dry(supposed to be one of the best) and gillette Fusion(supposed to be one of the most expensive razors + blade combo today)
a panasonic will cost u around 135-140$ comes with a 3yr gaurantee i assume total cost=135-140$ plus a lil guilt in the mind which runs all day after u use it.. and says i wonder if i i can make it more smoother with blade.. :-\
Gillette fusion power costs 9$ razor 50 brand new gillette fusion power BLADES will cost u around 80$ maximum if not less, will easily last u for 3yrs!! will give u a top quality shave *conditions apply* (ie all the pre shave procedure)= total cost 89-90$ + NO frigin GUILT!!
ur wish wat u wanna choose..
NO harm in using an electric i kno how it feels when something sits in your mind and u really wanna do ahead and try it out...what you can do is go to a barber shop near you and tell him to shave your head with an electric shaver or you do it yourself..i bet you come to the same conclusion yourself..
plus u can give your face a days break of shavin gives it some time to heal.. 8)

I've had it on my mind about using an electric for a long while now. Just to try a good electric such as the 360 or Linear mention in the last thread about this but I'm sure it couldn't get me as smooth as a good prep and sharp blade.
Furthermore I'm sure the thickness of your hair has a factor. For those with thinner, finner hair it may work out great but in my opinion if using an electric results in still using a blade to finish your noggin then frankly all your using the shaver for is the the 'with grain pass'. To counter irritation from a blade though is a different matter but I think so long as u can get your blade technique down, that would be better route.

Okay, it's more than fantastic it's honest--bald is getting recognized as the solution. Couldn't be better.

Well it's a pretty safe bet, less to shave each day ;D ;D ;D In five, it's just a scalp massage machine.

Welcome to the Forum Rod! Poast up an introduction in the intro section to let us know a little about you.
To answer your question...... the razor is still pretty new but a few guys have posted generally good comments about it.

I'm a new baldie and have not really been a fan of the razor. I decided to give the Clean Head a shot and will report back what I find.
FYI...it's cheaper on walmart.com

I got one of those Clean Head razors about a week ago
and so far it seems to do a good job.

I have a really nice Braun and gave it a try for a while... gotta say, never again. HeadBlade in the shower is so much faster and so much better! O0

I use a Panasonic Linear ES 8243 in jet black in between blade days. True enough, it does not shave as close as my HB
BUT
it's good enough to fool most of the people most of the time and the smoothness is good enough for me.

Buddha, are you using your Linear wet? If not, you're not getting as close a shave with it as you could.
