Title: BUMPS !!!
Post by: Bald-n-Philly on October 21, 2008, 07:32:29 PM
Firstly, I would like to say peace to all of the SLY crew !!! O.K., now here's the thing. I've tried all kinds of methods to avoid getting these stinkin bumps in  the back of my head on the corners of my neck. Weird, just the corners of where my hair line ends. I was wondering if maybe if I shave just that area against the grain, will it work or not. I  do the rest of my head with the grain, because it get's real ugly against the grain. So, I was wondering if I could get a little help from the brotherhood on this matter ? Thanks in advanced, and remember to  keep it SLY !!!

- PEACE !!!

You may be applying too much pressure when you shave.  Lighten up a bit and see if it helps.  I've also found that a generous application of witch hazel right after shaving helps.  I always seem to have a few bumps or to just be blotchy right after shaving.  It usually clears up within 20 or 30 minutes.

Thanks RazorX, I've been using the witchhazel, and try to do the edges very gently when I come to the end of the stroke. I've trying to exfoliate back there really well also. It was so bad one time, that I would skip days of shaving back there.

Could it be heat rash where your skin creases?  The best thing for that is to make sure that you're cooled down and dry before you do anything to get sweaty.  I used to live in Singapore (hot and humid all the time), and my neck would get that way if I didn't sit in air conditioning for a few minutes after shaving before heading outside.

You might want to consider trying a different shaving gel or even a different razor.  It can make a difference sometimes.

Hey what's happenin warhawk ?
Should have mentioned that I have been applying the cubes with the early morning cold water wake up rinse and I must say that both methods have helped a little. I guess both methods help cut down on the irritation.

P.S.  I guess I just have one of those ultra sensitive areas.
