Title: How dedicated are you to the "SLY"style of life?
Post by: PigPen on October 20, 2008, 11:54:40 AM
The reason I bring this up, is my noggin met a softball Friday night. The spot where it hit is quite tender, so I'm not shaving for a few days. When I mentioned this, the wife got excited and said you gonna grow it back? Told her ain't no way. Then she says she would be willing to do a few more "bedroom favors" if I grow it back. Still told her, "I doubt it"

Has your significant other ever offered something in return for growing your hair back?

Not here either....Of course I think a lot has to do with amount of hair one has on their head to begin with.....being I had a lot of hair loss and my wife was my "barber" buzzing it 3 times a week, she was actually delighted when I shaved because she wouldn't have to do it anymore. Now, I am guessing if maybe I had a full head of hair she might bug me to grow it back but since I have a lot of hair loss she has never once mentioned it in 3 years and she likes it the way it is...... :)

Nope, my wife loves it - no issues there and I shave every morning!

Not here, either, bud. I was Sly when I married my wife, so this is the only look she's known on me (recently, at least - although she recalls when we first met 20 years ago, when I had hair.) She's happy with the sly look, and since my Slyness is the result of MPB, I can't imagine why she'd want me with a horseshoe head as opposed to smooth and sly.

Since I have about three days stubble, I pointed out to her, (as my boss also pointed out to me) I have a bit of a widow's peak starting. Her response was it's not that bad. Told her I don't care. I shave my head because I like it. Why would I grow out my hair to make you happy?

Well, I'm sure some of you remember back in the spring when I got that nasty burn on my head.  I think that was the only time I went more than a day without being completely sly.  My girlfriend has only ever known me sly, and when she saw pictures of me with hair, well, lets see, I think her response was something like "OH MY GOD!!!  What the HELL were you thinking???  Why didn't you shave it sooner?"

No sweet offers from my wife  :-*, but I might consider it and then grow it back.

Strange coincidence...
Sunday morning, The Lovely Mrs. Schro & I are discussing politics when out of the blue she said "It's hard to take you serious with that shaved head".    WTF???  :Xo!

I then responded "Well, if you want my horseshoe back with the painful itching & scratching and the "snow on the mountain", just let me know".

End of conversation.

Last night as my wife and I were watching football the conversation turned to shaved heads. I asked her right out if she wanted me to grow my hair back.....she said flat out....NO.....I like your head the way it is.....I love that woman..... :@`

When I left for work this morning, the wife rubbed my noggin and smiled when she felt the "fuzz". I told her not to get used to it and she said "We'll see." Thinking I may shave it tomorrow, the swelling is almost completely down and it's not quite as sore today.

Out of the blue she said "It's hard to take you serious with that shaved head".

That's just not right Schroman. So are we to believe any smooth, shaved bro is not to be taken seriously?,  Nah, I think it's just you, you're all "thumbs".      ;D     ;)

I usually shave six days a week.  I usually shave pretty late in the day on Saturdays and skip Sunday.  By Sunday evening, I'm counting the hours until Monday morning when I can scrape it smooth again.   If I have to go anywhere important on a Sunday, I make sure I don't skip the shave.   I'm getting more and more fanatical about it as time goes by.  I just can't stand having any stubble and I don't feel comfortable appearing in public without a perfectly smooth dome.

In just the past year or so I've become about 95% bald on top.  On a day that I don't shave, it feels really, really weird to have stubble on the sides and smooth skin on top.  I just can't seem to get used to that for some reason.

My wife and I, together 16 1/2 years, have had plenty of arguments about how I dress, mustaches, goatees, beards.  My response always has been, "I don't tell you how to dress or how to wear your hair. Don't care if your hair's long, short, grey, colored, or if you shave it off."(Which she never did).  I've had to teach her that there's a line you don't cross but she'll be forever a student and I'll have to keep teaching her(until I get fed up).  If she can't live with the SLY look, the war begins anew.
