Title: Observations after 10 days of my new Sly life
Post by: slickjay on October 16, 2008, 12:39:26 PM
I'll start with the cons first:

1. Velcro head
2. Later in the day, when I realize I missed a few spots on an otherwise smooth head. They bug me until I can do some touch-up.

Thats it for the cons.

The pros:

1. Increased confidence
2. People say I look tough
3. My wife's new nick-name for me is "burly bear"
4. The Sun warming my scalp.
5. Driving down the Interstate at night with all the windows down, and the rushing wind cooling my scalp.
6. Being a member of the Sly Bald Guys forum
7. ...and many, many more.

the pros get better with time, and you begin to not notice the cons

The nickname burly bear is ironic considering that you are less hairy.

Well maybe she's referring to,

"Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear....FW.....had no hair!" ;)

Did I mention that I've also joined the Hell's Angels and now get in nightly bar fights? Burly's tattooed on the left, Bear on the right...

Another pro: I love how the above stereotype actually fits with my appearance. Its obviously false, but I don't mind if people want to think that I'm that kind of "burly" guy.

Slickjay, you're right on the money. It just gets better each day as you will see.
There will be more and more affirmations.

Believe what brudda Andre says, he's our Grandfather of Slydom!   ;)     O0

Listen, Anthony, with 15 plus years in, in sly terms, I consider him a grandfather.
Not many have been shaved for that long, and let's not forget it was no way near as accepted, or fashionable as it has become. If you look at it that way, and in a time frame since being bald has caught on,  it makes sense.

I'm sure Andre knows what I mean.      8)

I know I'm past 20 days now, but I thought of another advantage today:

No work today, so I took a day off from hygiene and skipped the shower. I love how there is no greasy hair to show off my laziness! My family went out today, and I rocked a new shirt and shades. I felt confident the whole time. Never would have done that before I went Sly. Would've covered my greasy hair with a hat.

Yet another reason why the Sly Lifestyle is amazing: it makes you feel like a million bucks even when you're a little greasy! I wonder how many more days I can go without bathing...

Ha! Set myself up for that one! :*))

Naw...really do not like to offend when I can..if you get my drift...

def. no smelly BradPitt (looks wise or odor wise here!)

You can count on BA takin' the clean route in all aspects when I can...well maybe not on the occassional bust work weekend or camp out! ;)...believe me on that...on my once in a lifetime trip to Paris I HAD to leave the Eiffle Tower before getting to the top because everyone was way too smelly...
