Title: Braun Pulsonic
Post by: Hook'Em on September 20, 2008, 07:05:46 PM
Does anyone have a Braun Pulsonic 9585/95 electric razor? I can't use a blade on my face and need a new electric. I've been using a 7000 series braun for years but the battery will not keep a charge. I tried the Panasonic wet/dry but it  chewed up my face. If you have one, let me know if you like it and what other electrics you have used.  Thanks.

At over $200 that's a rather expensive shaver.
I have a 6520 and it does a good job if I use it every day.
Sometime I'll use it an hour after a blade shave to get extra smooth.
Considering the battery life and the expense of the foils and blades of these shavers I'd get something from the lower end of their product line.

I have a Braun 8985 and it does a pretty good job also and comes with the automated cleaning unit.

Update: I bought one of these and received it today. Already shaved with it and it rocks. Like I said before i'm a Braun man but the difference between this and my old 7000 series is amazing. It just glided over my dry head like it had lube on it. I felt absolutely no pulling or scraping and it came clean as a whistle. There is no comparison between this 9585 and the Panasonic wet/dry that I had.  The Braun foil is what I think makes the biggest difference. I think the Braun is just slightly less powerfull than the Panasonic but it doesn't chew me up like the Panasonic did.  Anyway, just thought i'd report for anyone thinking about purchasing one. I know it's expensive (I bought mine on Ebay for $170 shipped), but if it last as long as the last Braun (6 years) it will only cost me (including the cleaner refills and replacement foil/blade) just over $1 a month. Ya can't beat that with a stick!
