My parents were over earlier and they were talking...well reliving their youth..and talking about if i remembered when they all use to do the hustle in the living room with their friends. I swear sometimes I think my mom and dad smoked dope lol....you all remember this? I barely do...

I was a teen in the 70's (graduated high school in 1978). That was THE worst decade for music!!! Does anybody here remember that this song was one of the biggest songs of 1976??
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zc5d01_riBo
Polyester leisure suits, terrible music (acid rock or disco), and Schlitz beer!!!! Man I hated the70's!!!!!
Plus.... I've always looked at the late 60's and early70's as the decade that morals in this country went into the toilet............

Nylon shirts
Nylon bed sheets
Nylon pants
Static shocks
But then a bit later in the '70s we got things like this:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Ci5SZx3VI_U&feature=related
It seems strange that this was so shocking at the time. Compared to more modern stuff it really seems quite tame.

Plus.... I've always looked at the late 60's and early70's as the decade that morals in this country went into the toilet............
I probably have no taste in music, as I liked some of the rock and disco stuff. However I do agree with that last comment.

Yes, probably true, but I was a teen in the 60's and have a lot of fond memories of those days... :)

anyone remember those rock formation garden things you could grow? You put these little crystals in a clear bowl full of water and you could watch the rocks grow in different colors. I think they came along about the same time as the "Sea Monkeys" lol

Walked to my neighborhood theater in Belmont Shore, California (Long Beach) to see "Billy Jack" for 75 cents. Inside the theater, those big Nestles Crunch Bars were outrageously expensive at 65 cents.

CABLE....channels 2-14
Cable? You got that with and antenna and it was 2 - 13 on VHF and 14 - 83 UHF.
How about the "tennarotor"?

-
nope not here...i remember when we got cable....it was awesome...then what was really cool was that it was on a cable box with a remote! Yes a REMOTE....no more going up to the tv and turning the knob...yes Knob..not a button...but a knob you actually had to use more than one finger..
-
Everyone got 2 -13; not everyone got 14 - 83. You either had to have a newer antenna or have a second one on the stack.
-
I dont know where you all got your cable...but here on antenna...all we got was 2,4,10 and 12 all the other channels were cable for us...3,56789 11 14
-

We got 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11. During bad weather we could get 17 and 28

You forgot to add that the remote had a 100 foot cable attached to it.

We had no remote for our cable. But we had this strange sliding channel changer. We got all the Seattle channels, Vancouver and Victoria, BC area channels. We also got KTVU from Oakland, later replaced by WTCG Atlanta (later known as WTBS). We also got a Portland channel and Showtime. That was about it. But it was cool to have cable because the Canadian channels often had the same shows as the American channels. So we could watch them at a different time since VCR's were not common or in existence then.
