Title: FOR THE READERS!
Post by: Timmay on September 06, 2008, 09:01:30 AM
All I will say is if you like to read christian books....The Shack by William Young.  Just read it, well worth the time.  I do not normally read....but this book as soon as I picked it up, didnt put it down.  Finished the whole book in one day.  That is very out of character for me, normally takes me a week or longer.....to finish a book.

Have you read the "Left Behind" series?   About the book of Revelations by Tim Lahay and Jerry Jenkins    Very good series.......I do believe it has 13 or 14 books in it.

It's crazy that you would mention that book.  I actually read one of the first copies of that book as my buddy Doug Wasson's mentor is Brad Cummings, one of the co-authors and president of the publishing company that published the book.  I need to read it again.

You now have my curiosity piqued.  I need to pick up some good reads.

I did not read any of the "Left Behind" series.  My sister did - she said they were pretty scary!

I recently reread some old classics:  "20,000 Leagues Beneath The Sea" and "Swiss Family Robinson".  Much better books than movies.

If anyone is into Verne era Sci - Fi, read some of Jacque Fuetrelle's works.  (They can be found in public domain on the web.)  He was a sci-fi writer in the early 20th century.  Fuetrelle was an Atlanta newspaperman who perished on the Titanic.

Yea ...I have read most of Jacque Fuetrelle's work, and he's good.  I am a big Sci-Fi and Fantasy reader.......

If you like Sci-fantasy try reading the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind......Very well written, but a long series, I think 13 or 14 books total

Yes ... two thumbs up for The Shack, and ditto for the Sword of Truth series (but I've lost interest lately.)

Other good Christian authors are Ted Dekker (anything), and Bill Myers (anything), and Clay Jacobsen ("Interview With the Devil.")
