Title: The end of summer
Post by: skiking on September 02, 2008, 09:46:37 AM
Well, here in Bozeman it looks like summer is officially over.  I woke up this morning and looked out the window and there was snow about 3/4 the way down the mountains. :D  A serious cold front came in Saturday afternoon and the last two days have been socked in so I couldn't see the snow.  If things keep up like this, it may turn out to be a great ski season. :@`

I would like a few more weeks of warm weather so I can get in some fishing when the October caddis start to hatch, and I can still do some hiking and such.  But we will see.

I know what you mean Ski. I spent the holiday at NorthStar Resort just north of Lake Tahoe and though there was no snow yet at 6800', the 29 degree mornings let us know that Autumn is close at hand.

I know it's crazy, but I love the fall!!  Even more so than I love summer...  Crisp mornings out on the deck, drinking coffee... football... the anticipation of Thanksgiving and Christmas....

Winter however, is a totally different story... stupid snow!

You can say that again.  Sitting in the quiet and smell of an autumn woods with the sugar and red maples all around.  Can't beat that time of year no how.

Well we haven't had any rain since the end of March...it's always dry here in California. That's why the sky is so hazy...all the smoke from the forest fires. I can't wait til it rains here again. Probably will be sometime in late October. But rain here means snow in Tahoe...skiing! Yeah!!!!

We were pretty dry until Fay roared in.  Things have been OK since.  of course, Sept and Oct are typically our driest months.

Your trip to Haiti!

We had a group from our district just get back from Guatamala.  Missions is great, but not my calling.

I have a great respect for anyone who can do that.
