Title: Last Night: Family dinner, Wii, and Mr. Combover
Post by: JMMARICH on August 21, 2008, 12:42:33 PM
So my wife came home from work yesterday and told me we were invited to her parent's house for dinner. She has 3 sisters, and her family likes to get together alot for meals. She then informed me that her middle sister was bringing a new guy friend..and she called him combover. I laughed, and she said Lauren told her he was a really sweet guy, but she wasn't sure she could ever feel anything for him as he had a terrible combover.

That evening we arrived at my in-laws and my MIL came right out and asked me to not wear my hat in the house as Lauren was hoping her date would see my head and see bald looks good.

I laughed again, but nothing prepared me for what I saw inside. This guy was about 26ish, 6'3, 160, and literally sported a Donald Trump. I was kind of taken back. The whole evening, I had a hard time not looking at it, and it made me realize how glad I am that I shave and move on.

This guy was clinging to the idea he had normal hair. It just oozed out of him. You could tell he was constantly worried about how it looked, and I felt bad for him. Maybe he will be around more and he will get comfortable with me and start asking some questions. Next time I see him, I am going to take some spy iPhone pictures and show you guys. Oh man, I am still in shock.

Josh start off subliminal man.  Leave razor coupons everywhere whenever he's around.  Suggest watching The Shield.  Make anecdotes about your routine.  Leave all computers on this website whenever you leave them.  Hell set it as your homepage whenever he's about!

I wanna see pics, i was wondering the other day if there are guys in their 20's with combovers as i've never seen one.

The hell with that guy....slap your sister in law!  :*))

Seriously, if your wife likes the look on you, and her sister thinks this guy is nice, maybe she can tell him to clean up the "Donald Do"

Josh-

I would definetly talk to the guy about it...... gently. You could treat him to his first "shave" and then take him out for a couple protein shakes to beef him up a bit.

Hahahahahahha....I wanna see those pics SOOOO BADDDD. JMMARICH, here's what you do bro...Next dinner, have your wife sit next to you and (discuss with her before) ask a stupid trivia question that only a quick reference to the internet can solve.  Then, (hopefully he's sitting across from you), bust out your iPhone, make sure the ringer switch is on silent, unlock it, act like you're opening up Safari and going to Wikipedia or something, but then use the camera to take a couple landscape oriented photos.....He'll never know! lol, then post here ASAP....Can't wait to see them.

YIKES!!  I agree with the intervention, but I think that this may call for a more pointed approach!  If you think the guy is cool for your sister in law, then pull him aside and tell him straight....she likes you bro but she wants you to ditch the combover!!

Jesus...
6'3 and 160? He has more issues than bad hair... guy needs a burger.

I've never been the type for telling people how they should look, if they like it - fine. If he wanted to shave his head, he would and if he was at all curious about it he'll talk to you.

I'm not saying I don't see people every day that I wonder wtf they are thinking, but that goes both ways.

Shame - I thought that you were going to say in that in a spirited game of Wii Fitness his combover unravelled and flopped down.

Super skinny and bald do not work. Just my belief. I gave up the skinny side of life years ago. LOL

Actually I'm 5/11 and a half and 135 lbs. It's just my matabolism and I eat my 3 meals a day and dessert. I do a hell of a lot of walking though and probably burn it up. But the bottom line is,I'd rather be thin than fat. Fat is just plain slovenly.

When people say they do not find being skinny and sly able to mix well, they are not implicitly saying they'd rather be fat and sly....How about you consider the OTHER possibility.....You know of what I speak.....Consider the alternative.

Don: u missed the point by using the word slovenly. What I'm saying is that I gave up the pretty boy look years ago. BTW-do u look like the above pic with a shaved head as asked by Casey Jones?

Really!  If anybody can convince him to shave, she should be able to!  I didn't think there were any 20-somethings with combovers anymore.  That is truly an old man look.

I find honesty to be the best approach.  Just tell him he would look awesome sly and invite him to join the club.  I can't go more than two days without shaving .. once he experiences sly he will be great full.  Since you are sly;  you can be there to offer positive comments ..
