Title: Need a digital camera recommendation
Post by: dog20 on August 21, 2008, 08:42:12 AM
I woke up this morning to find my digital camera on the ground.  When I turned it on,  I got a focus error and the zoom (lens that sticks out of camera) is now stuck... even when I turn the camera off., it doesn't go back in the camera.  What a shame too :(, I would like a light camera that can easily fit in my pocket.  If it also has a feature that tells you if the pic is good, that would be great.  On my camera, I would take a pic, then upload it, only to find out that the pic was blurry.  It was very annoying lol.

Price range = $200 and down. can stretch a little over 200 if the camera is really awesome.

Spend the bucks and get an Olympus Stylus 850SW ~$235.  I've had three Olympus digitals and they are great.  Each purchase was an upgrade, not a replacement because of defects.  I still have all three and they still work great.

Whatever you get, get one that has great glare reduction....you're going to need it when you get that AWESOME grill for your teeth.

Man, you're going to look great!

How does the focus feature work on it?  On my camera I had to hold the button down 1/2 way until it beeped.

Does that camera also have an indicator telling you if the pic turned out to be good or bad?  My camera didn't and even when I looked at the screen, I couldn't tell if it was bad or not until I uploaded it.  I know some kodak camera had that feature, it would light up red if the pic was crap and green if it was good, but it was bulky.

My wife and I have been really happy with the Casio Elixm.  I think you can get the 10.1 megapixel for about $225.
