Title: How long have you been SLY
Post by: slyinglide on August 19, 2008, 11:27:03 PM: I have been wondering how long all of you guys have been shaving the dome. So please vote and be truthful. I might use this in my Doctorate Thesis. LMAO...thank god for spell check, I didnt even know how to spell doctorate.

I will go first and say that other than a very long 9 months, due to an injury, I have been Slick headed since 1984

Then last May I saw a shot of the back of my head from a surveillance camera... so I figured that if God took away THAT much hair, I'll finish the job.

I first shaved my full head of hair in Feb. 1995. Stayed bald for 6 months
In 97 I shaved it and went almost 2 years.
It came off Halloween 2000 and I stayed slick until Jan 1, 2002
The last few years have been on average 6 months bald, 6 months hair.
So continuously, I'm onky at about 7 weeks. But my love of sly-dom has been going on for 13 years

Post by: gidbg on August 21, 2008, 10:56:56 PM: i started shaving my head in my early to mid twenties. now i am pushing late 30's so its been 10 plus years for me. It is such a natural thing for me to shave my head now that i dont go more then a couple days if it needs it or not.

Yep,,about the same time. Actually getting some sun tan where the hair used to grow. Still adjusting shaving routine. Tried St. Ive scrub last night for the first time. Man, what a difference that made. Never exfoliated the noggin before, so I think it was about time. Great stuff.

Post by: D.A.L.U.I. on August 30, 2008, 08:12:41 PM: I'm approaching my 11th month sly, I've gone through the worst of the sh*t w/ the wife, my daughters now seem to accept it, and after a brief 7 day non-shave before my daughter-to-be-married agreed that I shouldn't have to appear w/ a dying mop, I'm clean, I'm smooth, I'm happy. I am not going to be "balding" ever again, I have a shaved head, get used to it , it's not going to change.

As the last few days, since I experienced a total of seven unshaved days exposed to me, I'm never going back, my daughters have accepted it, and now wifey has got to.

It just feels so G*D*m good to rub my freshly shaved dome, I'll never give that up, and I know I will be bald, sly and proud walking down that aisle when I talk te princess down the aisle.

Post by: IRONHORSE on September 02, 2008, 11:22:25 AM: Somewhere between 10 and 15 years. At a best guess right now, I'm going to say about 12 years. Once I started, I never quit (except for occasionally getting lazy and letting it go about a week between shaves.)

Working on getting a picture so I can add my sly dome to the collection ;D
