Title: My opinion of the HeadBlade sport
Post by: slyinglide on August 12, 2008, 09:52:27 PM
Here it goes....If you had read my previous post last week when I told everyone about me purchasing the HB and my first experience using it well here's an update for ya.
The cut on my head was pretty big one.  I had not shaved the noggin in fear of opening up the cut again. I probably could have shaved it Sunday, but held off.  I had every intention of shaving tonight when I showered.  Well the UPS driver pulled up today with a package from the HeadBlade Company, and in it was as follows.
                              1..2oz btl of ClearHead
                              6  individually wrap HeadWipes
                              1.. 2oz btl of HeadSlick
1..2 oz btl of Head lube Glossy AND Matte
1.. 2 oz btl of HeadShed
                              1 HeadBlade Hat
                              1 Brand New HeadBlade Sport.

I did not ask them to do this, they did it to keep a customer happy.

I had to wait several hours to get to use all these goodies for the first time, but I finally used them no more than an hour ago.

I first jumped into the shower and....well showered.... I also used the HeadShed exfoliant on my head and it flet WONDERFUL.  Made my scalp tingle.
I got out of the shower to shave the noggin. I put some HeadSlick on and man that stuff lives upto it's name. Before I continue I would first like to say that this time, I took a hairdryer and heated the finger ring a little and then conformed it to my finger,  just like they say to do on the HeadBlade web site.

I took HB Sport in hand and carefully started the shaving process. I will admit that it felt very strange at first, but only after 2 passes it felt almost normal.  Even taking my time, I was done shaving my head in no time.  The back took longer because that was harder to do than the front for obvious reasons. Before I knew it I was almost done. I did do a little touch up around the ears with my Mach 3, but other than that it was done. Let me tell you....I was, and still am, amazed at the closeness of the shave the HeadBlade provided.  To tell you the truth I was a little skeptical and probably hoping that it just a gimmick,  I am going to say right now, that I have never, and I mean never gave myself a closer with any cartridge razor as the shave I gave myself tonight. The HeadLube, HeadSlick,ClearHead, and the HeadShed are all as just as good as the razor itself.

I am a HeadBlade user for LIFE........I have used probably every razor known to man, and this one is the best..

I would like to thank Todd @ HeadBlade for sending me the new HeadBlade, and all the great products that he did, and I Highly recommend the the whole HeadBlade line of products.

Thanks,  I'll tell ya my head is so smooth, that my head might slip off the pillow tonight due to lack of friction.

I am seriously impressed, and that does not happen very often.

I will say that it was because of this forum, and the men that use the HeadBlade and posted their opinion that caused me to try it in the first place so I need to thank all you guys that pushed me off the fance and made me buy it.

Glad you like it.   O0  I agree with you wholeheartedly.  One side-note I would like to add is with practice you can do around the ears without the need of a touch-up from another razor.  Took me a few weeks to get the hang of it.

Also - try out the different cartridge types.  There are several different cartridges that work on the HB (sensor, atra, etc).

Sly--

With the HB standard yellow adapter I use the CVS3 blades that can be purchased at any CVS store...... I believe, but I'm not sure, that they are MACH3 clones.............

These clones provide a GREAT shave with the HB............

There are a few different types:

(1) HB doubles
(2) HB triples
(3) Gillette Sensor Excel (my favorite) - needs adapter sold by headblade (very cheap)
(4) Gillette Sensor - needs adapter sold by headblade (very cheap)
(5) Atra Blades - no adapter needed if I remember correctly
