Title: non-prescription glasses
Post by: time2shine on August 08, 2008, 06:07:23 PM
Anybody wear them?
I always thought the sly/glasses look was cool O:O, so I ordered a pair online for about 10 bucks and i'll post a pic when i get them.

(https://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg147.imageshack.us%2Fimg147%2F7030%2F2002blacksm2ln8.jpg&hash=6b9be222947ba4c59864ed8da5a9da6774c8843b) (http://imageshack.us)

I'm guessing i'll get eye rolls from guys that have to wear glasses... then again i get eye rolls from grandmas, so what are you going to do.

I don't wear them but I know a couple of people that do.. and I have to say, they can look damn sexy!
I've seen a few slyguys with glasses on too (like the one's that you've posted) whether they were prescription glasses or not they looked hot to trot  O0

look forward to seeing your pic  :)

I received the specs this past weekend, only to find out that they fit rather tight.... probably beacause they were made for women (Brand name: Kiss)  ;D.  Not sure how I missed that in the first place, but I gave them to Stephanie (my g/f) and she looks very good in them.  Has that teacher vibe going on  ^-^. I wanted to post a picture up anyway, but apparently they're now MIA  :/O.
Still plan on finding ones that fit; will post a pic if it happens.

I tried contacts for a while, but due to chronic iritis I have to wear my glasses instead. But it's cool, cause I found a pair that I really like. I had always bought thin metal frames and this was the first time trying plastic glasses. I dig em and would wear glasses like mine even if I didn't have to.

But, people generally do want what they can't have. Straight haired people want curls, bald people want hair.  ;D

I found a pair of fake glasses in my room (don't ask, I don't know either). They're obviously girls' glasses, but I think it would work if I got a similar pair that isn't so girly.

the 'glasses' look can look very cool; and its nice you have the option to play around with them; knowing you don't have to wear them out of necessity.   I spent years trying to find just the right glasses; tried contacts ....    With the sly look  I find the more 'minimal' the glasses the better;  thin side frames; rimless lenses.

One of my frustrations is that I'd like to have several different pair of sunglasses; but to get them all in 'perscription' would cost a fortune.   And; ..  I don't wear contacts any more.

Maybe i should try them again. ...  Possibly they are more comfortable than they uses to be 10 or so yrs ago.

The internet.  But still tough to find.

word on finding not so girly ones, and i think you'd rock it well.  Aim for something...pinker.

I'll just go for the Moby/Steve Burns look.

Doesn't Maynard James Keenan or Billy Howerdel or one of those guys wear glasses sometimes too?

you all got me thinking about new glasses now.  Maybe I should hit the box at the funeral home and see if there is an old style I could bring back into fashion..lol

Still plan on finding ones that fit; will post a pic if it happens.

As you have found out eyeglass frames come in different sizes.
This page show the numerous dimensions that have to be taken into consideration.

Take them to an eyeglass center and they will usually fit them to your face free of charge. I have a big head, and I've always had to have them fit

This member's sly w/ combo look always looked pretty of sharp to me:

If I ever shaved off my beard & moustache, I'd definitely wear my glasses all of the time
