There is more to know about just buying sea salt than the norm. While on the islands I got to learn first hand about non manufactured sea salt from Hui Hana Pa'akai Farm how real sea salt is made from what else... the sea.
You can read about it here: http://www.hanahou.com/pages/magazine.asp?Action=DrawArticle&ArticleID=676&MagazineID=42 as a story was covered in the airlines magazine, which struck me as we flew home knowing that I had been there.

I prefer kosher salt, much better flavor and easier to use, no grinder needed O0
-
I've been using sea salt for cooking since I met my wife.
-
I'd only use sea salt as a condiment. For an ingredient, I generally use kosher salt.
-
I personally do not use any salt unless it is in food already... usually the MSG's we can't get away from. But I found that no extra salt on food and I am getting a better flavor.

Nothing wrong with MSG or salt. O0
Salt is actually a flavor enhancer. Did you ever wonder why it's an ingredient even in sweet baked goods?
