This is something I have been thinking quite a lot on from time to time. Is it ordinary among your and your friends families that you say once in a while that you love your parents/kids or is it something I hear mostly on TV ?
I can't recognize that I ever said this or that I got any tells from my mum or dad.
-
I say it to my little son practically everyday...
The world sucks...I can't! ;)
Sorry you don't hear it enough from your folks bro!
-
I talk to my parents frequently and I always tell them that I love them. My wife and kids......ALL THE TIME!
My mother-in-law, well......I'll just leave that alone.
-
I say it to my Mom and my brother all the time
-
My Mum has only ever said it a couple of times... my Dad never.
I say it to my kids every day.. I think it's important that you tell your children that you love them.
Even when one of them is upset with me and tell me that they hate me, I normally respond with
"Well, I love you"
My daughter always wants it to be the last thing she hears whenever she goes somewhere or
speaks to me on the phone, for the simple reason that if something were to happen to one of us,
that would be the last thing either of us remembered as saying to each other. :)

Every single day to the wife and kids. My Mom very often. With Dad it's more of a non-verbal thing........ like a quick hug or pat on the back. Dad is pretty old school.
I think one of the hardest things for a man to do is tell a grown son that he loves him. My oldest son is 23 and it used to be a little uncomfortable for both of us from the time he was about 17 to about 21........ But then he or I or both of us changed a bit and we express it freely now.

I say it to my folks and the rest of the family all of the time. While I am very sure my parents love me, they don't say it often. It is a generational thing, like the guy hug. You would never have seen that years ago but today it is pretty common.
-
My parents never really said it much to me and they're gone now. I tell my g/f and the kids I love them everyday. And they tell me everyday. I am a firm believer that love is truely expressed through actions and that my children truely know that I love them by my actions but I still tell them everyday.

I tell my wife and son at least once a day and my mom everytime we talk. :@` It is soooo important for them to hear that and see it as well.

Absolutely... I always think that, heaven forbid something happens to parents/kids, and you never see them again, and then regretting forever that you didn't let them know how you feel.
-
Not enough!
-
Of course. :@`
My folks know how much I love them.
My wife, parents and four kids are the world to me.

Ever since my best friend from college almost died from a fluke accident I've told my parents and my wife I love them every time I talk to them on the phone or I leave them. My wife I say I love you to every day.
-
Great kids RodgerDodger The second there peaking out from behind the first one looks EXACTLY like you!
They are cute. Two is enough for me.
-
I say it all the time to my bro's and rents...
The very little bit of family I have in the area here I've gotten really close to since moving here and say it to them too, and one of my cuz's that is basically the sister I never had. Aside from that it's not a term anyone'll hear me use when referring to people.

I say it to my Mom and my brother all the time
I heard Nomad say it to his brother over the phone myself O0
My mom = whenever I speak with her (once or twice a month by phone)
My Dad = barely ever (kinda strange and awkward for some reason)
My wife = quite a bit (not as much as I should)
My kids = several times every damn day O0
PBurke = 365 times on Friday night....hold's him over until next year for an average of once a day :*))
