Post by: juventus206 on January 15, 2007, 11:51:39 AM
I have dark circles under my eyes all of the time...anyone have an idea if a simple multi-vitamin will take care of this?  I think I've been getting enough sleep, so I don't ikmagine it's that, but ever sinve shaving the dome, the circles are much more prominate.

one thing to think about it there is a difference between amount of sleep and quality of sleep.  It also may be a nution thing, but I'm not sure what would be the fix.

I know of some really good daily vitamins you can take.  But, I would recommend that you check with a doctor prior to spending money on extra vitamins.

Typically this can be due to alergies, though more often than none it is due to improper sleep and poor diet (not to mention a lack of water intake! at least 8 GLASSES = 16 cups per DAY).

Then of course there is proper exercise.  One doesn't have to be the next strongest man/mr. universe to be healthy.

If you have allergies I would start taking Claritin (helps for some - others it doesnt do jack - if thats the case try Flonaise as well as the Claritin), ensure your water intake is up to par (while SERIOUSLY cutting down your caffeine intake, its bad for your heart for starters and it will dehydrate you on top of everything else) and start taking walks/getting proper sleep.

I've got the rings under my eyes a bit in my avatar picture, but, I wasnt getting proper sleep due to marital issues (of which is now coming to an end as she would have it) - but, because of that, I'll be going for low body fat and mass.  I've been blessed with having the capability to swell up entirely whenever I give my body even just a little free weight workout.  Will be the first time in a long while that I went for total mass - so should be interesting and I'll be posting in the diet forum.

But yeah, I'm getting off topic.. try what I suggested above and see if it helps.  After just two weeks of getting proper sleep, exercise, water intake, caffeine reduction and allergy medication (a person doesnt always need to be sneezing and runny nosed to have allergies) and I assure you those rings should be gone - AND your skin will be overall healthier than it was, which it seems women now-a-days are all about "pretty boys."  Dunno how true that is, guess I'll find out soon enough.

After much searching, I keep hearing that I need to increase my water consumption.  I really don't drink much water at all, or any liquids for that matter.  I'm going to give that a go.

As you can see from my picture I have the same problem. First off, there is nothing medically that can get rid of permant dark cicrles. Ever see Steve Buscemi?

I have asked several doctors this very question and I got several different "home remedies" that are supposed to correct the problem, but actually my dermatologist put it best.

You have very thin skin under your eyes.

He went on to say that it is a genetic thing and that there is not much you can do about it. The reason why the circles appear so prominent is that you have blood vesseles under you eye that deliver fresh O2 and nourishment. It just so happens that the way your faces is structured, the blodd vessels are closer to the outside of your skin. That skin there is very thin, so it shows through making a dark circle.

The best thing you can do is get plenty of sleep, watch your allergies and buy a Dark Circle remover moisturizer. I reccomend (https://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fa1468.g.akamai.net%2Ff%2F1468%2F580%2F1d%2Fpics.drugstore.com%2Fprodimg%2F141181%2F200.jpg&hash=4d4f821bba3a2d56ee209167ef54112d40ad5201)
Loral Dark Circle eraser.

One thing to remember that if you have these all the time, you will likely not get rid of them. You can just try to hide em' a  little.

I just want to add something, even though one "fix" scares me to put in print. My mother spent alot of money to figure out her dark circles were cause by eating wheat. I had my doubts but she cut it from her diet and it did seem to make them "not as bad". And, other than buying the pricey circle removers... here it goes guys.... use Preperation H. Put it under your eyes just before you go to sleep and wash off in the morning, 3 to 5 days of this and you will notice a difference.  OK guys... the floor is yours!!! ;D

I've also heard that dark circles under your eyes will happen if you have a past (or present, lol) with drugs. That would be my excuse. I have bad dark circles and I assume it's from when I was in high school and had far too good of a time with things I shouldn't have had a good time with.

I think Dr. Noner has a good solution, maybe combined with some of the other remedies.
