When I had DirecTV, there used to be a channel called Boomerang, which was owned by Cartoon Network. I'm not sure if it's still in existence, but Boomerang was dedicated to showing old, classic cartoons that hadn't been on TV in years. Here are some of my favorites from when I was growing up. Anyone remember any of these?
Up and at 'em, Atom Ant!
(https://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi318.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fmm407%2Frhorgan68%2Fcartoons%2FAtom_Ant_300.gif&hash=92d2d96899e4eb5a8a53c0dd3abdc1294ccd5e46)
Secret Squirrel and Morroco Mole:

Winsome (aka Winnie) Witch:
(https://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi318.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fmm407%2Frhorgan68%2Fcartoons%2FwinnieWitch.jpg&hash=ae0bbfa67f0c4070242b5f66e2c3d433ffb780a6)
Who can forget Precious Pupp?
(https://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi318.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fmm407%2Frhorgan68%2Fcartoons%2FPreciousPupp.jpg&hash=97d5413dd4a740f6f060bf830ecb354a95eda198)
And my all-time favorite:
Look, up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane, it's a frog! A frog?
Not plane, not bird, nor even frog, it's just little ole me .....
UNDERDOG:
(https://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi318.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fmm407%2Frhorgan68%2Fcartoons%2FUnderdog.jpg&hash=6d65af2b116dfd19565e9a56f17e0264443f4ee1)

Yep, I remember every one of them.
-
And to think today all kids have to watch are things like Sponge Bob. :(
-
Although he would never be called a Sly Bald Guy, I loved Droopy.
-
And to think today all kids have to watch are things like Sponge Bob. :(
Don't sell Spongebob short Razor. He's a heckuva actor. The classics were still the best, but the more I've watched some of the newer stuff, it kinda grows on you.
Phineas & Ferb (Disney) is excellent.
-
I don't remember Winsome Witch or Precious Pupp. But the rest I do. One of my favorites on Saturday morning was...Jonny Quest
(https://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.firstshowing.net%2Fimg%2Fjonny-quest-big.jpg&hash=948d7e752b588f11650ad540c6a716fd134fc7af)
Jonny, Dr. Quest, Race Bannon, Hadji (Sim Sim Salabim) and of course Bandit.
FYI, just a little nostalgic history. The voice of Jonny Quest was provided by a 17 year old Tim Matheson from 1964-65. Tim came to fame on NBC's The Virginian and you might know him best as the sex-crazed Eric "Otter" Stratton in 1978's Animal House.
-
I used to watch Johnny Quest too.
Hmmm, I think I watched too much television as a kid. Could be why I hate it now LOL
-
I remember all of those cartoons. And remember when they use to only be on saturday mornings from like 7-10. We never had the previlage to watch them at almost any given time of day.
-
Man... Johnny Quest was the best!!!! I My son and i caught a very old episode of it a while back and he loved it.......a chip off the old block!!
-
i was always a fan of johnny quest and secret squirll when they were on. But i'm of a different generation with Doug, real monsters, salute your shorts. Basically any nickolodian show be fore it went to crap. Anyone remember face? or stick stickley?
-

Does anyone remember the Banana Splits, Sigmond the Seamonster, the Bugaloos and all that crazy acid trip stuff they used to show in the 70's?
Seriously those guys that created that stuff must have been high on something.

OK Kids, let's go way back in time to my childhood. Yes, we had television (just barely). ;D

Rocky and Bullwinkle

Wasn't Johnnie Whitaker (of Family Affair fame) in Sigmund and the Seamonsters? Sigmund was played by Billy Barty, one of the original Munchkins from The Wizard of Oz.

I'm sorry, I'm kind of a trivia buff. ;D Both of those shows were developed by acid droppers Sid and Mary Krofft.

I used to have a Beanie and Cecil hat. It was a little propeller hat that had a string you could pull ( i think the string went under your chin) that released the propeller to go flying into the air. Can't say I ever saw the cartoon though, as I am in my early 30s.

Antique or not, I still played with that thing until it broke. We were at an old lady's house and our host gave it to me, where I proceeded to play with it in the yard. You know, I have no idea who this lady was as I look back. It could have been one of my mom's aunts or something.
That little red hat brought me at least 4 hours of entertainment before it broke.
I didn't see the pic when I started replying. That was it alright! Cool!

While not too terribly old, I used to watch Ducktales pretty regularly after I got home from HIGH SCHOOL. Was I the only young man who watched a few cartoons while going through the teenage years?
