A few weeks ago a colleague bought a cycle and all the leather gear. He had me try on the skull cap and leather jacket with the shades (my avatar). A really mean look.
That picture went all around the office. A few days later, a top manager (cute female) took me aside and told me I "look HOT" with sexy emphasis on the word HOT. Guess I don't look too mean after all. My wife also uses the picture for her computer desktop and forwarded it to her friends.

;D Yeah I know it's a bit dark. I thought the same thing when I put up that picture...but then I was like, it's kinda cool how it came out with the lighting. Yes it is me, I know its hard to understand for anyone about my looks. But I'm one of the most insecure person you could ever think of. And really I still hate myself for a number of reasons, suffering from MPB, haven't made those problems any easier to deal with.
I can look very confident in front of an mirror or on a picture but in reality it is different. I do think I can get more confident now when I don't have to think about my hair in the same way. One of my problems when I start talking to someone is that I can start stuttering, on a picture or in front of the mirror no one know this. The fact is that I don't see it as problem but it is. That I don't speak the native language in the country I live in, don't make it any easier for me to approach people. It so much more than my looks.
But please don't fool yourselves by those pictures because they are not revealing, whom I'm inside.

We all have our insecurities -- but as far as the hair thing goes, you have no reason to be insecure. Back when I was on the fence about shaving, I'd see guys like you and say to myself that I'd shave in a heartbeat if I thought I could look that good.

One can be insecure for a number of reasons, I'm very glad I don't have have to be ashame for suffering from MPB anymore. It's not the reason why I'm so insecure about myself.

Yeah, if I hadn't seen the smiling picture, this would certainly give a different impression. I don't know that I get "mean" from it, though. "Serious": yes. "Don't mess with me": I'd give you that too.
But looks can be deceiving. ;)
