Title: Another Newbie
Post by: MikeyDude on July 11, 2008, 05:07:46 PM: Hi guys... I'm MikeyDude (MD) and I just went from hair down to the middle of my back to baby's butt bald last night.

I gotta tell ya, I'm scared poop-less about facing some of my friends, but here I am.

having real long hair and going to a regular haircut would not satisfy your "long hair attitude"..

bald will bro...I've known 3 dudes in your shoes...one went right for it bald...the others worked their way and ended up bald as a cueball...

and loved it way better than the longhair!

The first day or two was wild--lots of looks and WTF questions, but after the initial shock--no one pays it a bit of attention. Oh and most of the responses have been positive. I'm a 32 yr old EMT and an educator, so have had lots of public comments. I was told my "intimidation factor" went up sveral points. Mom of course hates it, but go figure. After the first week I was trying to decide to let it grow back out or stick with it. I finally decided to stick with the slick look! At least make everyone guess how much hair I actually ahve left!

Anyway,

Glad to have found this site!

I always think shaved heads is a lot like long hair: both extremes. Agree with BALDANDRE: the attitude is the same. conventional hairstyles are so BORING after being long haired or shaved! 8)
