I am totally cool with my guy being sly, and in fact I prefer it. The only thing that I don't like about it is how he takes longer than I do to get ready >:( arr...
How long do most of your routines take? How often do you have to shave?
-
I shave once a day, usually before bed in the shower.
If he just started shaving his head, he may take a little while until he gets used it. I can be done in about 4-5 minutes. I've been shaving my head for about two years though. He'll get used to it and it won't take as long.
-
Twice daily. Before work and after. It takes me 2 or three minutes if I rush or 10 if I slow down and really pamper my noggin.
-
About 10 minutes for the face and head.............
-
between 5-10 minutes...depends on what mood im in....and yes LADIES....we "guys" have moods too. LOL...only we still dont primp as much as you laides do.

-
I don't have "moods"
I'm always this grumpy!
-
takes me 10-15 mins from entering the shower to putting my shoes on.
-
My total shower time is about 15-17 minutes. Shower, head and face shave.
-
It takes me about 5 min in the shower. I use the HeadBlade as my razor and it cut my shaving time in half.
-
I can shower, shave, get dressed in 30

;D I might be quicker now with my new electric...I bet I can cut 5-10 minutes out now
-
Electric slowed me way down because I had to go over it so many times (yes, the famed Panasonic Linear).
I can get ready in 20 minutes if I have to, but I like to take my time... so more like 45 minutes to an hour. I enjoy shaving my head so I try and savor the time I guess, it's my reward for waking up.
-
AN HOUR IN THE SHOWER? ( wow a poet and didnt know it) LOL....Only thing I can come up with that I would spend that long in the shower is doing............oh crap...Tyler when you gonna get that XXX room up and running????
-
I better get used to this, because it takes me about twenty darn minutes! (maybe because I almost drained all of my blood on day one, OUCH!) :'(
-
Anvil....if you cut yourself again...just hold yoru finger ontop of it really really tight and hold your nose with yoru free hand....balance on one foot...and hop up and down while humming Somewhere over the rainbow....and it will stop....lol
-
Thanks for the tip, you guys are the best!

Don't forget turning around in a counter-clockwise circle. That song works to slow the bleeding, but if you really want to stop it fast the you should actually try singing the Ewok theme song... "We are the E E E E Eeeeeewoks...."

wowwww, are you guys serious? Ok, I have been shaving for a month and a half. First I shaved using the sink. The past week I shaved in the shower. It takes me about 75 minutes to shave well.
If I only take 5-10 minutes I will look terrible, missing so many spots (I use mach 3).
I personally don't mind spending too much time though, but I would certainly love doing it faster. We will see how things go but I envy you guys.

75 MINUTES!...You got to be kidding me...arent you? I could never imagine, other than you must be going really really slow and worried about slicing your scalp. lets all be honest here....if you had to spend 75 minutes standing there shaving your noggin, how many of you would be slick and bald today???? Not me, I would say forget it. I would like to hear what your procedures are.
-
I'd like to know how you can take a 75 minute shower and not run out of hot water?? ???
-
Ok, I don't run out of hot water. I live in a building and so far it's all good with water.
Procedure: Put my head under the shower for 5-10 minutes. Once a while I add bar soap to wash it.
Then I put on some Gillette Series Shave Gel and wait 5 minutes. Then I start shaving with the grain. This takes 10 minutes for first time. But then I realize I haven't done everything properly so I have to look for missed spots. This takes another 10 minutes. Then I put back shave Gel wait 3 minutes or so and shave against the grain for the top. This takes about 10 minutes if I don't want to cut myself. Ok, rinse out and look for missed spots. The missed spots really take a long time because I always think I'm done but then realize some spots not completed.
There you go. I am certainly not proud of it, would love to do it faster but that's my best. :)
I cannot say forget it. I get lots of dandruff if I don't shave it off. It really is uncomfortable. Maybe I will give up 3 months from now if I don't get better at it :), who knows? So far I have not lost my patience.

Bmath,
First you gotta get a headblade and use it. The learning curve is less than 20 minutes from the start and soon it will turn to 5.
Second, stop using the soap first, get rid of the shave gel and get some headslick shave cream, then you can pass over it more than once and feel the missed spots.
Use your mach 3 just to go around your ears.
I can't even masterbate for 75 minutes :o

Amateur! You're obviously not married! ;D
75 minutes does seem a little extreme. I get up, shave, dress, fill up the coffee cup and out the door in 20 minutes.
-
just a quick defensive for those guys who are new to shaving.
it is better to take your time and go slow. I walked around with a cut on the front of my scalp last week and had to deal with all the bullshi+ that goes wit it.
when I shave my bathroom routine run about 20 mins... plus extra if I pose in front of the mirror when I'm done.
-
Shower, shave and dressed in about 20 minutes and headed for the coffee pot O0
-
well those of you who constantly remind me you get everything done in 20 minutes, I say thank you.
:) It's nice to show me how slow I am.
DuffRyder17 , thanks for the support. You know 75 minutes is a long time but hey if it means not
cutting myself it's worth every second of it. I have obtained a degree in mathematics (bachelor's)
so I am used to taking a long time solving one problem. So, 75 minutes shaving is not so bad ;D
Hopefully in the near future I will get it done faster.
-
There is no "correct" amout of time. Can't speak for others but I am a very routine oriented type of person. Thats why it takes me 20 minutes on average. But if 75 minutes is your norm nothing to be bad about...just be bald and be proud. Besides man..if your at math you automatically have my admiration. Hell I have trouble without a calculator.. :/O

First couple weeks honestly shaving takings about 4 minutes. My morning routine total is about 20-25 if I'm still tired
-
Since I started Headblading (instead of regular razors) I can be in and out of the shower in 10 minutes clean, smooth and fresh. I shave about every other day, usually before bed. if I do it more often than that, I tend to get pretty bad razor burn.
I do break the routine and take a longer shower on performance days (I play in a band), then I do a cursory scalp scrape just be sure I'm looking as smooth as possible.
For most shower shavers the time gets shorter as the process becomes automatic. It gets to be as simple as your average persons shampoo/conditioning routine.
-
At three months of being Sly, I am down to about 20 minutes. A far cry from the first month. I have a fettish about any stubble.
Shavings is fairly quick, about 5-6 minutes, but going back over to get perfectly smooth takes some time. Seventy-five minutes is a little long, but it's your time and head. I'm sure you will cut it shorter in time. Good luck.
-
Does he use a headblade? I'm way faster with a headblade than a regular razor. Probably only takes about 1/3rd of the time.
-
I can get up at 5.15am, shave, shower, dress and be sitting in the work colleague canteen having coffee at 5.45am for 6am start. Takes me 3 mins to drive to work. Getting quicker by the day. The old noggin is getting tougher and I dont need to be so careful anymore. :) ;) O0
-
Ahhh, I dunno. Showered, shaved, dressed, and ready to go in about... 15 minutes? Maybe 20 on a day when I feel like taking my time.
-
30mins to shower and shave.
-
I just started shaving every day and it takes me about 10 minutes. However, I use an electric so I can do it while I'm reading the newspaper.
-
These post have me wondering? What is the difference in time for those of your that are MPB and those that are BBC.
BBC'er have a lot more hair to get rid of. Therefore, more time. As you know, perfection does take time.
-
I shave everyday. And it takes me 45-1 hour sometimes if I am using my safety razor. But on a regular day with a headblade in the shower. 30-45 min.

Yeah, it does take a little longer Pappa Don. I am receding but still have a full head of hair. Also the hair I do have is very thick. My wife calls it gorilla hair because (she is a hairdresser) and when she used to cut it she said it dosen't even remind her of human hair, more like fur.
I just started using the Conair Cleanhead and if I let it go for a few days, it can take a while. I think if I didn't have any hair on top it would be a lot quicker.

I groom about every three to four weeks or did you mean my head? I shave with clippers once a week. :P
