What I absolutely can't stand, are the ignorant drivers who are sitting there, yapping on their cells driving and not paying attention to anything but what's in front of them.  Then they go to change lanes without signaling or looking and damn near run you off the road.  Those seem to be the same people that, when I'm driving in to work in uniform, will be speeding past, then glance over, see the uniform and slam on the breaks and stay behind me.   :*))  When they do that I love just slowing right down and doing the exact speed limit and just watching the line behind me grow.

People who pay no attention at traffic lights (Chicago 'burbs' home of the three second left turn light)  These idiots are asleep, or on cell phone and waste time when others need to turn.

Basically ingnorant drivers. The ones that are talking on cell phones while trying to turn are the most annoying to me. Then there are the teens that have a dozen people crammed into a tiny car that drive bad, swerving in and out of the lanes.

I hate the people that drive slow in the fast lane, but even more so, I hate people the block intersections when stopped for a stop light

I hate....

1) Driving in MD - I'm convinced 80% of people from MD have no idea what the different lanes are intended for
2) Slow drivers not moving out of the way or getting a clue when you're all up on their bumper...which leads me to...
3) People not using their mirrors  :x!

I'm from MA, and we have a bad reputation, but it's not because we're bad drivers, it's because we're aggressive, and have places to go and people to see and would much rather spend time doing those things than driving to those events.  ;D

Sorry for the rant, but bad drivers just kill me  :Xo!

Oh, this one really gets me, people that don't pull over when they are slowing down traffic, or people that are afraid to pass a cop, or people that instead of staying home during a blizzard decide to drive 20 mph, or people that speed up when you go to pass them, and the worst of them all is the people that don't think the speed limit should be 70 mph and drive 55 to make other people drive 55, and you all know what Sammy Hagar says

:*))  Yeah, what I don't get is why everyone slows down when I'm in my ranger, or when I'm going in to work with one of the other guys in their little echo.  I mean hell, that isn't even anything that would be used as an unmarked UC car.  What IS great is when we're carpooling in to work with the one guy who has the big white crown vic.  Then we actually have fun with people, and DAMN if it isn't hilarious how people react.

I take so much inspiration for my job from Super Troopers!!!

LOL!  Say Car Ram Rod!

The other day there was a bunch of cars following this cop on the freeway while I was on my way to work.  The cop slowed down to 55 MPH, though the speed limit is 65.  I said screw it and decided to pass him anyway.  Turns out he was screwing with everyone because he had the OFF DUTY sign in his side window.  I just waved and sped off.

If I'm on the bike - people that throw cigarette ends out of their window.  Don't they have ashtrays in their cars?
I had a great firework display once at dusk when White Van Man lobbed one out that bounced off my visor.
Once in Central London traffic a fat bloke in a fat Merc chucked out a cigar end that landed in my lap.  I managed to stop really quick and threw it back through his still open window.

Oh man am I an expert on this. I live in a resort town. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I have two pet peeves. First, people who do not know how to use their directional signals. I think they should be thumped on the head real hard for at least one minute non-stop. Second, slow drivers in the fast lane.  :Xo! :/O

Have any of you ever driven in Montreal or Quebec City though?  You don't know bad drivers until you've driven in the Province of Quebec.  Yeah, and I can really vouch for that as I learned to drive in Quebec!

The worst in the world though is Naples, Italy... but in the US, it's the above mentioned ones!

I only had a taxi right in Montreal... it wasn't toooo bad!

Just a question for my Canadian brothers. It is law there that you have to have your headlights on all the time? We have a Canadian-American Festival here in Myrtle Beach ever year and I notice Canadians have their headlights on sunshine or rain.

No, there is no law for headlights, but what confuses a lot of people it that there is the law requiring all vehicles to be equipped with daytime running lights.  The DTR's are standard in all vehicles and must be installed in all vehicles that are imported and actually appear to be headlights but are in fact a lot dimmer.

People who's priorities while driving are everything but driving.

Cell phones, laptops on the passengers seat, eating, makeup, nose picking, radio, etc.

Also people that drive like they are the captain of a ship. Drive slow, make wide wide turns (even slower) and cant seem to navigate into a parking place in under 5 min.

I own a Chevy Cavalier and it has daytime running lights.  I bought it here in Washington
State and it was a year old rental car.  I am sure that it was not a car meant for the Canadian market as Miles are bold and Kilometers are smaller on the speedomiter.  But I am wondering if American cars are going to be doing this so it wouldn't matter what country you are in.

For me it's a combination of the above mentioned, but:

how about the slow turners?  At first you're going normal speed behind them but once they hit that blinker they have to slow down to 0 before beginning the turn so that the centrifugal force doesn't launch them out of the window.

It's gotta be that, or Mr/Mrs, I'm going to take a left across 5 lanes of traffic during rush hour.  He/She doesn't care if you're waiting behind.  Give up, go right, and find a U-ie later or find another route.

Lol I'm all worked up now.  Y'all got me road raged and I'm not even in the car.  ;D

Sorry to hijack, but I found something I know about!!! A lot of the cars made for the US are equipped with DRL's now. Not everyone uses the same lights, but the principle is still the same. For a while the Corvettes and Camaros used the parking lights in the front. The Acura MDX uses the fog lights. The Acura RL uses the high beam bulbs, but only at about 20% of normal power.

Back to the subject, everything you guys have mentioned, ticks me off and then some....

How about this...having your passenger (say, your wife) do the sudden invisible brake move and gasp at something in traffic..causing you either a minor heart attack or an actual over-reaction that DOES cause an accident.

I tell her it's like having a mime riding shotgun.

Ahh you got me.  It's not a true force, but it is commonly understood as for moving away from the center and a lot easier to describe!

I agree with you sooo much there bro.  On my way to florida...we were about 10 miles from our destination...3 lanes...I was in the far left lane doing about 70.  in front of me a car doing about 60...just to the right of them another car going about the same speed...NO ONE in the far right lane ( the slow lane).  Being that I had been on the road for well over 15 hours at this point...I decide to move over 2 lanes to the "Slow Lane"  to get around them.  Well well well...guess who gets pulled over?  ME! He said I was speeding and I did an unsafe lane change...( no one behind me other than him and he was way behind me) He said my turning signal didnt come on until I got in the the middle lane.  All worked out good...cause I didnt recieve anything other than a verbal warning.  I think with Annie sitting in the front seat and her smiling at him won him over because when he walked back to our van on the passenger side to give me my DL back he winked at her and told her to tell my daddy to be careful and have a great vacation.  LOL

So what I am saying is...MOVE OVER IF YOU ARE HOLDING BACK TRAFFIC!  I over heard this one young girl saying to her friend at a McDonalds once that she liked driving in the left hand lane all the time because we normally just drive on the right side.  I explained to her what the left lane was for..her reaction was "Mind your own business Grandpa!"  Had she been a child of mine...she wouldnt be driving for a long while.

Idiots who cut over right in front of my 80,000 lbs truck so they can slam on the breaks to take an exit. It takes more than three football field lengths for me to stop at highway speeds, and what these morons are doing amounts to attempted suicide.

Sadly, it happens every single day.

I feel for Truck drivers, people are ignorant to the difficulty of driving (and breaking) one of those things and swerve around them and cut them off all the time.

I have had many times I have seen a trucker risk his own life to avoid crushing a little Mazda Miata or something and the idiot had no idea how close to death he or she just was.

Yeah people often haven't a clue how many times a trucker has saved them from their own stupidity. Doesn't really help the gene pool does it?

Oh and I realized that I spelled out "breaks" instead of brakes. I could fix it but what the hell. We all make a mistake now and then LOL
