Hey guys I was trying to decide if I wanted to get a Headblade or not I had one some years back and it was fairly new on the market then (nothing but the Atra blades were available at the time) and used it very little but seems their design has changed and it may suit my purpose better now. At present I use a Mach 3 but if I can find something to speed me up it would be well worth the money. Any suggestions good or bad?

I'm one of the few it doesn't seem to work well for... it gives me a close, easy shave no doubt, the problem is that it's too close more often than not. I'd say 70 percent of the time I have used the Headblade my head is bleeding at one spot or another.
Just to confirm, I do not put force on the blade and use long, slow strokes. I've even gone so far as to not put my front finger on the Headblade at all, does not matter.
I know I'm not alone, but I'm also not in the majority... fact is, I wish it worked for me because it is a much more natural feel using it. Seems to me there are just some head shapes it will not work on.
-
Ah I see that was the pretty much the situation I had with the first one but I ended up messing up my first one adjusting the finger ring. So the experience was short lived and I didn't get the chance to master my technique.

I've tried the Headblade on several different occasions, but always end up going back to my trusty Mach III. If you cut yourself with the Headblade, it can be nasty. On my last attempt a few weeks ago, I sustained the worst injury I've ever gotten while shaving my head. Doubt that I will ever use it again. I really wanted to like the Headblade, but it just doesn't seem to work for me as well as it does for some people. If the Mach III is working for you, stick with it.

This is my second week using the headblade thus far (was using gillette fusion before) and it does take some getting used to. It does tend to leave me just a bit more sore than the fusion so far, but it has cut my shaving down by 15 minutes (My showers before headshaving-30 mins, After headshaving-45 mins after headblade-30 mins) so its worth it. If I'm not careful it is easy to cut myself, and the shave isn't *quite* as smooth, but its close enough. I'm gonna give myself another week, and if I can't get around the ears easily by then I'm gonna start using my fusion near the ears and keep the headblade for everything else, case the ears are headblades biggest weakness.

IRDSM, you take long showers. I would hate to pay the energy bill for that, just remember water has a very high specific heat, 4.18 J/g*C(air is 1.01 J/g*C) :o

Dan's a young man, showers for me at that age were more than showers..... O0

The headblade sport is my favorite to use. Though I have also cut myself, but that was using the generic atras :Xo!. Try using different blades. My personal favorite are the cvs m3 blades 4 for 5.29!

Headblade Sport using the Sensor Excel blades.
I too had a bloody head using the HeadBlade blades, tried the double and triple versions wit h no luck.
switch to the Sensor Excel blades, which aren't too bad on the expensive scale...
you do need a special attachment (that comes in the package when you buy the HB sport)

The key to the HeadBlade is to not apply too much pressure. Let the blades do the work for you. Also, if you're not getting results with the blades that it comes with, try the Atra or the Sensor Excel blades. I have found that the Sensor Excel blades work best for me.

BWAAHAHAHA... I think everyone has gotten in TOUCH with THEMSELVES in the shower at sometime...
Seriously though, I am a shower shaver and for years I used the Mach 3, then the Quattro, then I found this site and tried the Head blade. I have not looked back since, I absolutely love it and it works great for me. I only use the tripple blades though (the double Atra bladed did not work well for me). Really gave me a great shave that used to take me 20+ mins with the regular razors.
Everyone has their own routine and it seems those that done use a head blade swear by the Fusion.

Ditto on the don't apply pressure
Ditto on the Sensor blades

Wow Blasto, nice to see you sly. How does the wife like it?

Started with the Fusion, tried going with a Headblad... then chewed the heck outta my neck/back of my dome. Care must be taken around the fleshy parts of big men's heads... or as my kids like to call it, "the neck meat!"
-
I use the Headblade for the bulk of the project, and then finish up any missed spots and above the ears with a Fusion. This combo seems to work well for me. Also, I've found that the gel is key too. I'm using the HB gel which works very nicely.

She likes it more now that she sees it on me or not on me ;). I love it never going back now

Best darn invention ever... I love my HeadBlade! :@`
Welcome to the "sly" side!

To HeadBlade!!, of course.
This is my tool of choice for the easiest and smoothest shaves.
I have used the HB since I started shaving the noggin' almost a year ago now, and I have nothing but great shaves and no problems at all.
The simple rule is if you give it time and take it slow, you will have no problems. From there all that you need to do is dial in which blade combo works best on your dome.
For me it's the Atra plus or it's generic counterpart. I also like the HB doubles and use both.
I don't get as close a shave with the HB triples, but I will use them.
The Sensors (doubles) really do not give me a good shave, with them I need to make many more passes, which ultimately leads to more irritation. If I happen to catch a sale on the Sensor 3's, I will buy them as they work best out of all Sensor blades for me.

HeadBlade all the way!
I've been scraping my dome clean with a HB for several months now and never encountered a problem...until yesterday. I can't blame the HB cause it was all my fault. See, during the previous days shave I noticed that the HB Triple blade was getting a little dull and that I would have to change it out. But I finished off that shave applying just the slightest of pressure to get the shave.
The next day I replaced the dull triple with a fresh blade and went to town on the noggin. But for some reason I musta thought I still had the dull blade on and applied just a little bit of pressure as I slid the HB up the nape of my neck. And of course you all know the result. The shower looked much like the one in the famous scene from the movie “Psycho.” :/O
Lesson: DO NOT APPLY PRESSURE TO A HEADBLADE!!!!
-
HeadBlader here too. Use the sensor trips also and seem to get less cuts with them. Although I have to say the 1st month was a bit bloody till I got used to it and had removed all the little bumps on my head. But as they say, "That which does not kill us only makes us stronger!"

Yes you should!!
I think from hereon-in whenever you make an arrest on a balding person it should be
your duty to read them their rights to a decent hairstyle. ie: SHAVE it off!! ;)
