Title: Am I the only guy who shaved his head with a full head of hair?

I appreciate the forum 100%.  I just shaved my head tonight for some strange reason; maybe I was having a brittney moment    :*))

anyways,,   It took me about 3 hours, much longer than I thought it would, and I only cut myself one time  O0

But, as I am browsing here, it seems that it is all about mpb.  Are there any other guys who just wanted to see what they would look like?  I finally realized how ugly I am, lol...  espeially from the profile.  However, I do have that numbing thing going, which is pretty cool....

the first pic is me AFTER I started to cut my hair with the scissors (I'm trying to look goofy because I know my nephews would love it):

Welcome!  From looking at both pictures (ignoring the goofy expression  ;))  there really is no question about it.  The sly look is so much better and it takes years off your appearance.  I hope you keep it that way because it really is a natural look for you!

Actually there are quite a few guys on the forum that are BBC (Bald by Choice).  I'm one of them.  I didn't have MPB, but had a recedeing hairline much like you.

The sly look really suits you.  The time to shave your head will get more manageable once you've done it a few times.  Read some of the headshaving posts and decide if shaving in the shower is a good option for you.  I converted to a shave in the shower guy and this has made it much faster and easier.

Oh, BTW, we'd like to salute you for just doing the deed and not waffling about it for three weeks  O0

Full head of hair here!  I went sly a couple of years ago just because ....... that's it.......just because!

I have to tell you man, going sly took at least 10 years off your look.  Looks great!

Shaved off a totally full head of hair a year and a half ago and haven't looked back.   Nick, that is definitely the look for you.   As the other bros have said it takes years off of ya O0

Welcome Nick!  Same story here.  I have a full head of hair and went slick for good two months ago.  Takes me about five minutes each morning to keep the dome clean.  Everybody's right...you look years younger.  Stay sly bro.

same here.  i have what most would call a 'full head of hair', although receding at the temples.  My hairline was pretty much like yours, Nick, or yours, baldy46.  I just wanted a change, and the shaved dome is cool. O0  And now there's just no going back! 8)

I have  hair...when I grow it...if I grow it.  I just have a receeding hairline like most guys my age.  But bro....it suits you fine.  Makes you look alot younger.  I say stick with it.  Oh and the 3 hour shave thing.....you will cut that down to just 15 minutes before long.  First time I shaved....it only took me a half hour....but 3 hours??? OMG

So true, yep yep.  A receding hairline is MPB.  I guess I don't look at it that way, as I have no balding on my crown.

Congratulations Nickolas and welcome to the forum. When my g/f saw your before and after pics, she said the same thing I did. "Wow, look how much younger he looks SLY!"

Glad to have you here. This is a great group. I'm BBC as well though I had a receeding hairline as well.

You're not the only who shaved a full head of hair. I'm bald-by-choice.
You'll find that the bald look grows on you. It's true. And there are the 'advantages'.
-ease of maintenance
-it's cooler and I sweat like a....
-it looks tough and intimidating
-nothing for someone to grab in a fight
-high CDI (Chicks Dig It) factor

I don't consider myself to have male pattern baldness, as I'm just receding at the temples.  maybe some of us would see this as a problem: MPB!!!! OH NO!!!!  But not me.  That's not how I view things.  There are others who have MPB and are almost totally bald on top.  I've still got a full head of hair with no bald patch or thinning.

Belive me, if i DID have true MPB it wouldnt worry me at all: I actually envy those who have a shiny hairfree dome! 8)

I'm BBC too. 18 years old and one day I just got tired of my hair next thing I know I'm bald and smooooth. Being sly is really great  O0

I HAD full head of hair when I started shaving in 1996.

Still full head of hair which I kept smooth until october 2006...
since then non full head of hair as I went for the hair removing,
getting to full bald head  now ;)

I have always heard that going sly makes people look younger, but your before and after shot is the clearest example of that theory I have witnessed so far.  Either that or you just know how to take really good pictures.  Nice look sly dude.

BBC here also.  Still could grow it on top(if I wanted).  Started shaving in 1983.
