Title: Another Intro from the UK
Post by: Al Smith on January 05, 2007, 06:29:50 PM
Hey guys, I'm another baldie from across the Pond. I just came across this forum by accident and was totally amazed - an excellent site full of good and interesting sounding people.

I guess that I have been shaving bald for 6 years now, but shaving to grade 1 or 2 for at least ten before I picked up the courage to take the attachments off my trimmers altogether!

I'm much more lazy than most of you seem to be and only shave once every couple of weeks - of course by then I have to use the trimmers again before getting the blade out. Lesson 1 - increase frequency. I do like the 3 to 6 day stubble the best and love to stroke my own velcro dome.

All the best from your growing Brit contingent. Look forward to posting some more.

Quite a following developing from "across the pond"

is anyone else trying to figure out if it really is a pond?   Or if it is, what kind of pond is it?  Freshwater/saltwater?

 ;D

welcome Al.

Oh it's definitely a pond.  Have you seen the size of the Coy??

There's no trying to figure it out.  It's a scientific fact.

Oh...and WELCOME, mr. smith

It always amazes me that we broke away from Mother England ... then spent the next 230 years having a fascination with their Royal Family, customs, music and fashion.

Good afternoon Al, I hope you are enjoying a typically wet weekend in the UK.  Where are you from?  I am in a tiny place in West Yorkshire called Holmfirth.....it is where the make 'The Last of the Summer Wine'.

Anyway, as a relative newbie myself, welcome, I have found this a really great place to hang out, I hope you do too.

;D ;D Ahoy, mate, and welcome aboard! The pond gets smaller all the time. Although American--a New Yorker--I met my wife (also American) in Oxford (Exeter College) in 1964. We've always been Anglophiles, miss the Empire and the glory days of the RAF and WW II, not to mention stories about the Old Queen (VR I) and the great personalities of the 19th century. Glad you're with us against the baddies. I have made my living teaching British Literature for 40 years. Since many of the royals have the same genetic gift we SBGs have, all we need is a princeling who makes the decision to become sly and shave it all off. Enjoy the site; it's the best. Godspeed, Professor Melon
