Well, a bit about myself. I just turned eighteen, and to celebrate I decided to go bald.
I really botched the whole thing up on my first few attempts, lots of burn, shadow, and bumps.
I've got some pretty thick hair, but I'm going to invest in some products tomorrow.
Anyways, besides the hair situation - I just graduated high school and probably will either go into the military or do something more local like the Fire Department or Police.
I was directed to these forums when looking for advice on keeping my head slick and shiny, saw that you guys seemed like a wonderful group, and decided to join!
I'm excited about this new chapter in life that I'm about to hit head-on (excuse the pun).

Congratulations Scott. My biggest regret is that I waited until I was 23 for my first complete lather and razor headshave and not doing it when I was youngr.
-
Hola Scotsman and welcome to the forum
like Rod Stewart said "You wear it well!" :D

Hey Scotsman,
Welcome to the group. The shaving routine will get easier as you go. I've only been at it 19 days and it's getting smoother and easier every day.

You are way ahead of the game being so confident at your age.

I am wondering how your folks feel about your new look? Especially if you are not yet losing hair. Personally, I think it looks good on you. But when I started shaving my head at age 36, my hair was starting to leave. My dad was balding. But I was told it looked like hell. In the past my stepmom even said that if I loose more hair, maybe I could get a toupee! Yuck! Anyway, welcome to the group!

Welcome to the group Scotsman! Looking good. O:O

Yeah, I was a bit worried about the reactions, too! But I've gotten a lot of positive feedback so far, and everyone loves rubbing it for some reason...
The main thing was the girlfriend, and still is. She hasn't seen it yet :)
Wasn't expecting to get so many replies so quickly, thanks for the quick welcome!
-
Oh wow. Keep us posted on your girl's reaction when she finally does see it. Good luck!

Oh man, I just shaved with the headblade and some headslick. It's crazy how much of a difference it makes.
Did the hot water prep, then cold water afterwards. I have bumps, but I think they might be leftover from two days ago because my scalp isn't really that red.
But I'm sly now! I can rub it against the grain and it's all nice 'n smooth :)
I freaking love it!
Think I'm gonna try rubbing an ice cube over it for kicks. Heard it can either feel really bad or hurt, why not give it a try?
-
I fully recommend an ice cube...feels great!
-
Wow, yeah it does feel really good. Melts fast.
What's with all of the license plates I see on the forums? Are those y'alls real ones?
-
Welcome Scotsman!
Trust me, it's all over now... you'll never go back to having hair!!

Glad to hear you're enjoying Slydom! Your gf may be shocked at first but she'll certainly come to love giving you head rubs. Welcome to the site and let us know how things go. Don't forget, if you like it, don't worry about what others think and say. You'll regret listening to them if you go back to hair, I know I did but now I'm happily Sly almost 5 months and loving it!

lol I don't know why people find me intimidating! Just look at my third signature pic and picture me running away from that raccoon after giving those kids an attitude adjustment. :*))

Man, the first day was gooood.
I've always been a fan of throwing people off, and when I walked into work today there were a bunch of mixed reactions ^_^ A bunch of, "Dude, why would you do that?", "What happened?", and "Oooh, lemme rub it!"
I work at an arcade, it's a fun place. We get to mess around a bunch with all sorts of junk. We have access to crazy kids toys for redemption tickets like those little green army men, slinkys, mega bouncy balls and the like, but what I'm trying to get at is the first advantage I've discovered about being bald. Now it's nothing major, just something fun.
Liquid repellant!
I'm a swimmer and a boat guy, I love the water. I had a bunch of hair, and definitely didn't like the wet hair feeling. Today someone decided to pour invisible ink on me - but that stuff just flew right off. I got the chick back who did it to me, (who happened to be blonde) and it was abosrbed and turned that hair blue :)
As I said it's not really a major advantage or anything, but it's just a fun little tidbit.
I do like the way pillows and car headrests feel, though...
...anyways thanks for the warm reception guys. Can't wait to get to know a few of you, this is gonna be fun. I'm already massively proud of my dome.
-
Welcome scotsman!
I love the reactions. At first it was intimidating, but after the first few it became fun.
