I admit, I was skeptical about the new gillette fusion. Four blades? Why the hell do I need four blades. That just sounds dangerous. I thought I was already walking the line with my Mach 3 Turbo with the vibration but another blade?
Well I am pleased to say that the Gillette Fusion is a pretty cool razir to own. Quite honestly I don’t notice the difference in the actually shave from my Mach 3 but it has an added feature that I really like. It has a trimmer blade on top of the razor. With the single blade, my go-t looks better than ever. The Mach 3 could never seem to make a straight line, and I believe Gillette figured that out and made that improvement.
As far as the new shaving cream, its pretty much the same as the Mach 3 so don’t bother spending the extra few bucks.
One warning though: Watch yourself when you have your first shave. Make sure you have plenty of get or cream on because its really sharp. I actually find that the second shave of the Fusion is better than the first beucase the blades have been worked in.

This weekend I headed up to my parents house to sight in my rifle - yes, I am a hunter of big game! I'll take a short tangent to tell you that I only hunt what I will eat, not for the trophy. So, back to my story...
I got up there and it was time to shave my head, since it was two days after the last time I shaved. I reached in my travel bag and pulled out my trusty, fully charged electric razor, hopped in the shower and started to shave. The only problem was that my razor wasn't fully charged! So, when I was about 1/3 of the way done I no longer had enough juice to continue and this model doesn't have a cord that can be attached while shaving (probably since it's designed to be used in the shower).
Now, I didn't have any fresh safety razors with me, so I convered myself up and headed to my parents bathroom to see what I could find in there. To my amazement I found a brand new, un-opened Gillete Fusion! (Which later I found out was my mom's, and not my dad's). I tore into that package, pulled out the razor, grabbed my dad's shaving gel (which was dumb because I had the same stuff in my bag) and headed to the shower.
Like Noner, I was quite intimidated at first becasue of all the blades that were staring back at me, but I got over it and started shaving. The razor gave me a close shave, similar to the Mach 3 that I had used in the past, though I found that it did not contour to my head as well as the Mach 3, so there were some areas that I had to go over with a second time. I did find the little blade on the end to work wonders around my ears! Overall, I was pretty impressed by it, but I don't think I would pay more money for it if it cost more than the Mach 3.

Ha ha ha! Tyler, that was one hell of a story. ;D
Wish I would have things work for me the way they do for you - I mean, you stumble across
a brand new Fusion in your parent's house. That was one fortunate incident.
What did your mother say when she realised you used her brand new expensive razor?

Luckily she didn't mind too much because she got it for free at the mall or someplace where they were handing them out for a promotion.

lol thx for the product info, and the laughs guys hehe  I was gonna ask you Tyler "What in the world are you doing with an electric razor in the shower?!?!?!" But then you alerted to the fact it wasn't plugged in. I ran into that problem years ago myself. That's probably the reason I still don't use "electric" today, not being able to use as it charges. I know some models/products do now, but I wasn;t shaving my head in J.R. High hehehe p.s. Tyler if you get one like that, DO NOT use in the shower bro! BAD MAGIC! hehe

Fusion makes a zipping sound as you shave with it. also, that sixth blade on the bad side is useful for shaving that little area under the nose. It gives a good shave, it is just expensive.

Yeah... definitely expensive, but worth it!

Good deals on Fusion blades are to be found on ebay! The last batch I bought cost about $1.70 per blade and last me 1.5-2 weeks. I also get my Atra blades on ebay for the Headblade!

Got a FREE Fusion standard in the mail yesterday!
-
I got a free fusion too! It was from the military, for registering for the draft :-\ I really like the razor, It's very smooth, and i used it in conjunction with an electric Braun. The fifth blade was especially helpful for trimming around my ears. I use it as my standard face shaving razor, and I'm trying out the Headblade.

I got the fusion last year when it was frist released. I don't know if it's my hair, or my mind but after a while I lose my ability to get a close shave with my razor.
I love the fusion, the 5 blades seem to stay sharp for a while like 5 days, and the back blade it great for getting around the ears and the 2 cowlicks i have on the crown that grow lateral... I do have a messed up hair growth i know.
I'll probably use the fusion for another year than have to switch it up..... PS i've grown to hate mach 3

Man, we still don't have the Fusion in stores here in Greece. Germany just caught up
and made it available a month or so ago, and they started an extensive advertising
campaign. I'm sure we'll have it by 2008 or so.
Boy, sometimes I think we still base our logistics on donkeys around here...

Please, do tell. I don't have a problem with jokes about Greece. We Greeks complain and make
fun of ourselves and our country all the time. So let's hear it...

i'd like to invent a custom made, 40-blade shaving helmet. one swipe and your whole head is shaved clean as a baby's butt.
-
That would be great especially if it had GPS direct it smoothly over the
imperfections of my noggin!
Love the fusion! Pricey, but look at the E-Bay Deals!! O0

I'm pretty sure PigPen would test it.

BEST RAZOR EVER!
-
No, you can't have my Fusion unless you pry it from my cold dead hands.
-
Being shaving my head smooth since 1996 I have tried:
- Gillette Contour (2 blades)
- Gillette Sensor Excel (2 pivoting blades)
- Wilkinson/Shick FX (2 bending blades)
- Gillette Mach III (3 blades)
- Gillette Mach III Power (3 blades/vibration)
- Fusion Power (5 blades/vibration)
Maybe the closest shave comes from Mach III / Fusion, almost no appreciable
difference BUT Fusion is SAFER that Mach III, no nicks, no irritation, so my choice
is Fusion! :)

This is just my take on it, Headblade looks cool, in fact I bought one the day I decided I would ultimately go sly just to be ready. I tried it, and 1) it didn't give me as close a shave as my Fusion, 2) I personally had issues changing grips, etc., 3) getting blades from Headblade, as opposed to using an adapter, takes too much time, 4) it would require taking two razors on the road, and 5) although I didn't get any in my few attempts with it, many have reported good substantial slices on their noggins using it--and I've only had minor swipes at red spots w/ Fusion. So that's why I said, above, that they will have to pry my Fusion from my cold dead hands.

For the dome: Headblade
For the face/neck: Fusion
A compromise, if you will, for me
