Title: We have a "New Addition" to our Family
Post by: SLYinKC on June 05, 2008, 08:55:09 PM
This is Buddy.  He's a little over a year old and we got him about a week ago.  It's the first pet we've had since being married.  It's almost like having a new baby in the house.

Very cute, Rick.  How much does he weigh?  Is his tail docked?  He looks like he might be part Wheaten.

He's only about 15 lbs.  We got him from a friend of a lady I work with.  There was a family that got him as a puppy for their mentally-challenged son and the child did not take up with the dog.  So they had to get rid of him.  He hasn't had alot of attention all of his short life. I think he is really enjoying my 2 boys.  He's had "several accidents".  He was supposedly house broken before we got him.

Cute dog; it almost looks like his paws and head were spray painted gold because it's such a distinct coloring pattern.  By the way, if your kids say they will pick up his backyard deposits, don't believe them... kids lie.

It's not unsusual for dogs to have accidents in a new environment, even if they were already housetrained.  I'm sure he'll catch on quickly.

To cute.  I am very happy for your family.  Personally, I don't want anything else in my else that eats or poops.  Four of us in enough!

Great looking little dog Rick! As Razor said, it's not at all unusual for a house trained dog to have 'accidents" in a new environment.... especially for males. He may just be staking out his new territory. Anyway, be patient, it probably will end quickly.

Good Luck!!!!!

Neat looking dog Rick.  Great that he has a home now where he will get plenty of love and attention.

nice picture!
he looks like an active and bright little buddy.
i guess your sons will have a lot of fun with him.
give him some attention an u will see how adaptive a dog is.

newest funny thing he does when we say dry your feet,
he runs to his sleeping place and starts to scratch around.

that's timmy !!

Hey Rick, that's great you're taking in the dog. I'm sure he'll appreciate the friendlier environment.

Now, the dog would look really cool if you shaved a Raider logo ....nah, nevermind.

Congrats!

Rick, congrats to you, and your boys. There's nothing like a dog to teach them a sense of responsibilty. Dogs and kids go together like peanut butter and jelly. We had dogs the entire time I was growing up, starting with Flag the beagle, then Rusty, Cinders and several other spaniel mixes.

Just in case you all didnt know....Ben has a dog named Timmy
Howdya know about my family recent addition, TimmJ?

I know you have many talents, but I didn't know you have ESP. It's somewhat faulty ESP, 'cause our dogs name is Tommy, not Timmy.

We were told that schnoodles make excellent playmates for children. They love to romp in the yard, chase balls, or just hang out with the kids. They are also smart, courageous, and alert, which makes them very good watch dogs. Sounds like you Timmy. Bet TimmJ love's to romp in the yard, chase balls and hang out with the kids. Another schnoodle characteristic is that they make wonderful "therapy dogs" due to their out going friendliness towards adults and children of all ages. Is there anyone more outgoing and more friendlier than our friend Timmy!

U-oh! I hear him growling. Sit and be a good boy. Lunch is coming!
Is that a peanut butter and jelly sandwich I see.  ^-^

Thanks for those such KIND words there ben...but I was refering to Ben32's dog.  He has one named Timmy.  I guess my name is just a popular name that fits all to well.  And for your information...I love being out in the yard...popping balls in the air...catching them,  playing with the kids and Hey I even like to swim in my pool which is in the backyard LOL.
No, no peanutbutter and jelly for me today, I had a meatball sandwich from the deli down teh street today.  Yum it was good too...see it was balls..meatballs....l like playing with balls. LOL
