I've been lurking here for a few weeks and finally decided to introduce myself. I'm not a full fledged Sly. I usually buzz the dome with a 0000 blade once a week, but have shaved it with a blade a couple of times. I still have a lot of hair, especially from the crown back. Need you bald brothers to encourage me to go Sly full time. I'm going out this weekend to get a HeadBlade to try it out.

Welcome aboard. Glad to have you here. Go ahead and smooooth it on down.

Welcome here!
Glad you found us. Enjoy this great forum. Do the Deed, you will love it, and enjoy the sly feeling.

Welcome Red. If you are already buzzing it to 0000 then you are only two days from that when you shave it slick, so go for it.
-
Welcome SimplyRed. You've asked for encouragement so here it goes. You state in your intro that you've already shaved your head with a blade a couple of times. You don't need a headblade to be sly. Anyway a headblade is not that easy to master. You'll probably do a better job with the razor you currently use to face shave. It's obvious the idea of being a full-time sly is something you really want. You won't be happy until the deed is done. So take out a fresh blade and be off with your hair and join the ranks of the fully sly now.

Hey Simplyred...dont listen to Rafter...LOL. Headblades are cool. I use one everyday. They really arent as hard to master as one would think. First time users should go slow, just think of it as you are shaving a balloon, and you dont want to pop it...go gently for the first week or so until you get the feel of it. Most important thing is to make sure you do not apply pressure to the blades...always keep it on the wheels ( if you get the headbladeSP..or the heel on the reg. headblades). Im not opposed to reg razors because they do a great job also.
I see you are from Chicago...we are having a convention in chicago the last weekend in July, you should read up about it and come join us. The more SlySlickGuys we have there the better. Hope you stay around and become an active member.

Red..man Lou's is my favorite follwed by Geno's done here in Memphis their pizza is terrible. I asked one of my employees for good pizza and they directed me to ...Pizza Hut... I just had to laugh.
If you are ever out in Elgin the best place for Dogs is Jester's Big Timber & Mclean.
*Also I will second TimmJ the headblade is easy to use just remember to keep the back down. There are a few blogs on here on techniques or check out their website I think they still have videos and tutorials on it. I've used it for several years and it is a great product

Red, welcome to the Sly Asylum. As you can see, Timmay is the head patient! But as in other asylums, the patients often think they are in charge!
Anyway, Red, I agree that you have a excellent head shape for going sly! This is the day of the bald head! Do the deed!

Welcome Red!!!

Red, welcome to the SBG's, the best site on the net!
Good to hear you are planning to go smooth, and I think you should use the HeadBlade as your shaver of choice. As Tim has said, it's not hard to master and soon becomes very natural feeling.
Take it slow of course, and keep the pressure of the blade end, just let it roll and do it's job. Stick with it and you'll have it down in no time.
Don't worry about trying different blades at first, just get it down and when you are comfortable with how it works, you can try doubles to see if they give you a better shave. You may just want to stick with triples, each is a matter of personal preference.
Good to have you with us, and get that noggin' smooth , bro! O0
