i hope this hasn't been posted yet. i've been a lurker for a while, but something i read in the paper today prompted me to post (i'll do a proper intro in a bit). Let me know what you guys think about this silly girl's "predicament."
DEAR ABBY: I am not sure how to handle my boyfriend’s hair loss. “Jasper” is 34 and I’m 23. We have been dating for two years and have a wonderful relationship. We are completely open to each other, and because of that, I feel backed into a corner regarding this subject.
Hair loss is such a tricky topic. Women aren’t supposed to care, but in reality we do -- unless you’re one of those rare women who enjoy bald heads. (I’m not one of them.) Although Jasper’s hair loss is barely noticeable now, without some sort of plan it will probably take over in a few years.
Jasper is self-conscious about his thinning hair. I can tell he’s worried, but he doesn’t want to do anything about it. I care more about Jasper’s feelings than his hair, so I haven’t let him know how much it bothers me, although he asks me often. His type of hair loss is treatable. I find him very attractive now, but I don’t know how I will feel when he’s bald, and I’m sort of cringing inside about it.
I’m fed up with hearing, “If you love him, let him be” because my attraction to him is an important part of our lives. What should I do? -- TIRED OF SITTING ON MY HANDS
DEAR TIRED: Most women are not so fixated on “what’s on top” that they fail to value what’s underneath. While some hair loss is treatable, some is not. The kind that isn’t can be successfully treated with a hair transplant -- if the candidate is eligible, and if it is done by a talented, qualified surgeon.
Whether Jasper is willing to endure the discomfort or the inconvenience is anyone’s guess. In fact, he might prefer to find a woman who is less hung up on hair than you. Frankly, I’m betting he wouldn’t have to look too “fur"

jacklink: welcome 2 the sly fraternity. as far as that "silly 23y/o girl"... she is a GIRL because a true WOMAN who loves her man wouldn't care whether his man has hair or no hair. i feel kinda sorry 4 the man because the girl that he loves is NOT a true WOMAN.

That's what the 34 year old guy gets for being with an immature 23 year old. No,seriously this girl is obviously a very shallow person. If she truly loved him for himself she wouldn't be making an issue out of his hair.He should get rid of her stupid ass because she obviously dosen't love him on the inside.

Plus, that immature 23 year old will still be immature when she's 50, and just as superficial.

Dear Abby,
My Girlfriend just turned 50 this year and I am only 31. When we got together she was very attractive and now her boobs are sagging, she has a lot of wrinkles and has gained weight. Worst of all from years of bleaching her hair she is starting to thin on top. I have a thick head of hair (One of the main things she loves about me) and have aged gracefully. I want to tell her to get a boob job, liposuction, facelift and wear a wig but I know this is a touchy subject with her.
Should I just buy her a couple of cats and dump her ass?

Sorry to ressurect this, but I missed it the first time around, and wanted to express my FURY for this chick.
This is a perfect example of how society has shaped people's minds to think bald is bad. This forum is a breath of fresh air, and I hope it continues to change people's opinions as it moves forward and grows. Thanks guys.

All I can say about this girl is she has alot of maturing to do. Unfortunately it the right guy comes along with the right amount of money...and a head full of hair...sounds like she will be on to the next "flavor of the week". Then again...what happens when dude number two starts loosing his?
