Title: Real Estate Transaction Stories ...
Post by: andrew on May 17, 2008, 06:55:46 AM
We put our house on the market officially yesterday after doing alot of quite renovating.  I took the advice of my sly brothers and had those broken window cranks fixes.  I'm glad I did it, as it ended up costing much less than I expected.  Did some quick painting, built a stone wall around a tree and planted flowers in that.  Planted other flowers all over the place.  Lookin pretty good.

We had 2 showings yesterday and have another today, so we're crossing our fingers ...

We're in the process of bidding back and forth on the house we want to buy,  but with the clause about our having to sell ours before buying theirs, the offers don't really hold alot of weight.

Nevertheless, we're moving forward as best we can, hoping for a quick sell and smooth buy.  My wife and daughter are really excited.  I try to keep emotion out of these transactions, but it isn't easy.  We're on our 6th house, so we're somewhat used to the process, but it's always nerve-wracking ...

Any interesting real estate buy/sell stories to share sly bros?

Andrew

Amazing what a little paint and some flowers will do.

The first house that my wife and I owned as a couple was on a very busy street.  We decided that we would have to move before having kids.  We had a realtor over to look at it and she told us to be prepared to sit on it for awhile.  The next day, my wife was talking to one of her client's at her office and they mentioned the need to find a house pretty quickly. She mentioned that we were considering selling.  Long story short, we had a contract and were in our new house in less than a month and a half later.  Talk about being at the right place at the right time.
