Man...I had a ton of "first plans"..
it finally went down one day when I went to a barbershop and the barber asked what I wanted and I asked for him to take it down real close...which meant at the time about 1/4 of inch...he took it down with NO GUARD! I was pleasantly shocked , thought what the heck, asked him if he could shave it completely bald..he said he couldn't do a razor shave but he'd Norelco it...a trip to use a shaver like that for the first time!
It was a trip, very cool and kind of scary...I went home and lathered it up and have been hooked ever since! Man I was nervous...but that was back when SLY wasn't as popular..
about 14 years ago!

Mine sorta evolved from buzzing my hair, then I just left a mohawk and went out with it that night. the next day I shaved the rest off then shaved it closer and closer... and soon, I was scraping it with a razor.

Well i had planned to shave my head at some future point.
then i got drunk and decided, hey i want a haircut......
and i love it

I'd been thinking about it for a long time, but didn't actually plan on doing it the day it happened. I'd been getting my hair buzzed to about #1.5, and was going to go down to #1 but chickened out at the last minute. I later decided to buzz it a little shorter myself, but the clippers I had wouldn't go any shorter -- so I took the guard off. And that was WAY shorter than what I wanted. I knew I'd screwed up after the first swipe, but I had to continue. I wasn't going to shave it smooth, but I was so very close to it I couldn't resist the urge to go all the way. Figured it was as good an opportunity as any.
The first swipe with the blade over the top of my head, and the path of smooth bald skin that it left behind was a really exhilerating feeling.

I remember it quite well, since it was only a little over a year ago. I had been contemplating for quite some time. The only regular razor I had was a cheap disposable. It's a wonder I didn't do a real job on my head.

@razorX, something like this happened also to me some years ago, it wanted to shorten my hair, but before i trimmed my beard, extremly short. as i wanted to go further to shorten my hair, i forget to change the step on the clipper. sooner as i could realize it, i had a really bald patch above my ear. :o
i wasn't ready at this time to give me a complete shorter haircut, so i tried to cover it somehow.
stupid things happen ;D
PS: Rick, the bald look on you seems to be like you had for years now, i guess u become a real baldy, that's cool.
