Hello Everyone,
I've been reading topic on this forum for awhie now and thought I would run something by the group.
I've been "SLY" since June 07 and recently noticed that my head broke out with some pimples. I stopped shaving and just buzzed my head with a hair trimmer (I really do prefer to be "SLY").
I would like to start shaving again and would like to know how to prevent my head from the problems of bumps, razor burn and pimples.
Here's my routine:
Headblade Sport with Atra Razors
Headslick
1 Wet head in shower with warm/hot water
2 Apply Headslick go with grain, apply more go against grain
3 Rinse with warm water, then blast with cold water.
I have Headclear and Headshed. Should I use these everytime I shave. Right now I don't
Any hints would be greatly appreciated
STAY SLY!!!!!!!!

tkd415: 1st of all welcome 2 the sly fraternity. glad that ya found us. u might want 2 add an ice cube rub on your noggin' after the cold water rinse. after drying your noggin' U should apply some witch hazel. this should decrease the razor burn & irritation. however... the bumps & pimples is different because U might have 2 check out a dermatologist. also... U might want 2 add rubbing alcohol 2 your routine. here's the link:

If you shop at walmart pickup some "shave secret shaving oil" it has seemed to help me if i put it on before the headslick or whatever shaving cream I am using at the time. Another thing that is a must have is St Ives Apricot scrub it to is available at walmart there is a blemish and blackhead control try using that. It is not very expensive like 3.50 to 3.72. The apricot scrub in my opinion is a must have. O0 Warhawk has also given you some good advice! O0

I was getting razor bumps at my temples and I started the St. Ives with acne controla and there's no more this stuff is awesome

Are you breaking out right after you shave or later in the day? I started breaking out about a month ago and realized that it was actually happening when I was sleeping, not due to shaving. I started using Bald Guyz Wash and it went away.

i use cetaphil face wash on my head after i use apricot scrub and that fixed my pimple problem

I have been using Bald Guyz Wash & Shampoo for about a little while now,and I notice that my head is clear all over. I use it in the shower right before I shave, and it seems to work great. It's got all sorts of good stuff in it....try it. Plus, you may want to try the Bald Guyz Headwipes during the day to clear up any oils and stuff that can form throughout.

Do we have ANOTHER TKD lover on the forums...?
-
Yes, I've trained in TKD for 18 years, currently a 4th Dan and ran my own Dojang for 7 years. Unfortunately a divorce made it all come to a halt.....for now

Try going with the grain. That might help
-
Cuz, i to kept breaking out with a few bumps initially.
This is my routine and it works perfectly.
My dome is clear of any bumps /pimples.
Headblade scrub in shower-Hot water
Headblade wash in shower-Hot water
Get out and leave scalp wet, apply a few drops of oil, massage in
Apply Headslick-using Brush
shave front 2 back( using Headblade )sensor blade
shave back 2 front
Then i take blade off Headblade and put on normal shaver and go over various angles( use spare hand to feel )
Run cold water over scalp 20 seconds
Pat dry
Apply Witches hazel, and then a drop of Clearhead
Get ice cube and run over scalp( best feeling)
Apply a touch of Moisturizer
This works for me, i found the key to be that you have to keep your scalp as clean as possible, i.e. i use a touch of head wash every morning and night.
My scalp could not look or feel healthier!!!!
Good luck

I use King of Shaves ASC2 Shave gel....this has an antibacterial ingredient in it, which I believe protects against bumps and breakouts that can be cause by the minor unnoticeable scrapes that one experiences when shaving. Maybe try that out, along with the pre shave washing, cold water/ice cube rinses, and witch hazel. Good luck, bro!

Hehe, this is completely off-topic, but I just got my purple belt in TKD last monday O0
Couldn't resist reading that and NOT saying anything. People in fighting groups sure love the sly look, don't they?
