Hey all, I was sitting at the dinner table tonight and the kids left the TV on in the living room. As we are sitting there I hear the music from MASH.....I just sat there and my wife looks at me and she says Tim! Wake up. I guess I was in deep thought because that song triggered childhood memories when I was at home. My dad use to watch that all the time and I remember everynight during dinner that song would come on the TV. What got me was it sorta made me feel like that little kid again and it was a nice feeling. Anyone else ever experience that...trip down memory lane?

Everytime I hear a Hall & Oates song it reminds me of my mother. I remember as a kiddo she liked them.

Dude there is way to many songs that put me in that memory lane trance. MASH is one of them, another from the tv theme song realm is the song form Barney Miller

The theme from the old cheesy batman TV series...... also the theme from Get Smart..... Gilligan's Island.

Tim great post! I have experienced this same flashback to childhood too when hearing theme music.
For me it is the Hill Street Blues theme song.

Its weird because its only the theme songs of shows that would come on around supper time that I remember the most and it takes me down memory lane. I guess it was because we were always glad to see dad walk in and he would immediately turn the tv on , sit down read the newspaper. Then he would jump in shower as mom was finishing preparing dinner. The tv would remain on even though no one was in there watching it. Andy Griffith and the Beverly Hillbillies....

We had the TV on during dinner too....
Everytime I tune to TVLand and hear that corny theme song, I'm taken go back to those childhood memories with my parents and siblings all together around the table. :'(
Look what you did Tim.... you got this big lug all misty eyed.
Was that the intention of this thread? >:(

GREAT TOPIC, THE ONES THAT COME TO MIND FOR ME ARE......THREE STOOGES, GILLIGANS ISLAND, AND THE MUNSTERS!. THESE WERE ALL AFTER SCHOOL SHOWS THAT ALWAYS SEEMED TO BE ON. TWO MORE THAT I CANNOT LEAVE OUT ARE THE THEME FROM ALL IN THE FAMILY. A LITTLE TRIVIA FOR THOSE WHO GREW UP IN MICHIGAN AND OHIO, DO ANY OF YOU REMEMBER SIR GRAVES GHASTLY?, SATURDAY AFTERNOONS IN THE '70s WITH HIS CLASSIC HORROR MOVIES. GREAT MEMORIES!

Same here Tim!, I have had this feeling many times too, and each theme song brings me back to a certain time and place, even different times of the day and what was going on.
It feels good to remember what was going on in your life, and know all the memories you have from those times will always be with you.
Good topic, bro. O0

Skippy The Bush Kangaroo Theme Song reminds me of chillen with my bro as little tackers.
